Gun doesn't look very Halo. Engine appears to be Doom 3.

The main thing that discredits that photo is the gun and its position and the fact that it doesn't seem very Halo like. However I agree with the statement in that article that even if Bungie is working on Halo 3 that MS wouldn't want any news as it would most likely hurt the launch titles.

Halo 2 will be re-released for 360 this spring, including a "proper" ending. Halo 3 won't be along untill 2007 or 2008, to boost the 360 towards the end of it's lifetime, just like Halo 2 did a year ago for the xbox.

a rumour, still.
this week bungie will make their "grand announcement" (not halo3) though.
i tihnk its too early for remakes. i mean really
if they wanted to release a new ending, just make it for xbox1

I seriously doubt that Halo 3 will be released for 360 'towards the end of it's lifetime'.
That just flat out doesn't make any sense.

h2 wasnt released at the end of the xbox1's lifetime. that tihng has a lot of life left in him. its more a middle-lifetime release IMO

In one of the interviews a Bungie designer said that they were going to end Halo 2 like that regardless of how much time they had, what was cut due to time were levels in the middle. I think Bungie would do well to release a non-Halo game before releasing Halo 3.

Why is it that nerds can't understand a cliffhanger ending? Halo 2 ends ike that because Bungie wanted it to

w3rd, if you check out the making of dvd you'll see the stuff that got cut due to time restraints. a fight between the arbiter and one of the prophets, for instance, and some maps on another one of those floating cities

And the fully per pixel engine with lighting and shadowing to match Doom 3 as well as real time reflections on his VISOR!
I saw that and shit myself lol, it was so good "IT DOES LOOK THIS GOOD!" they said. Lol.
Anyways, the end product looked amazing regardless. A good used of bloom, for once. Its just a sad shame it lost that "halo" feeling. Maybe it was the weapons

actually, it was how they wanted it to look. maybe that clip was real time, who knows. there wasnt much going on other than a narrow corridor and the MC. for a full game, however, there really wasnt enough gpu power
(see dvd for more info :P

Yeah I have the SE DVD in the nice tin too. I think thats how all big name games should ship
A tin, making of DVD and the game. The Doom 3 one lacks the DVD but damn, the case beats the shit out of the 1 inch wide DVD box we got on PC
I know the box wouldn't be able to pump out the detail, maybe for halo 3. We shall see.

That is what I keep telling people. That was the best damned cliffhanger ever, and thus I hated and loved it. I loved it because it was a damn good cliffhanger and I hated it because I wanted to see what happens next. Which is the point of a cliffhanger. It does get annoying when some dumbass thinks that the game was "unfinished" because of it
