do you remember the part where he is getting chased by the cops and one of the cop cars crashes into a train like truck with the golden arcs for mcDonalds on the side of it? well on the TV version the golden arcs where removed.
now why the fuck would the network be so anal about it since it was originaly included in the movie?

it's not like it's obsene langueage or nudity.

if the movie had the rights to show it (and prolly got payed for) why couldn't the network just let it ride?

maybe other networks have the exclusive rights to McD's adds?

The movie industry and television industry are completelly different. What's cool and legal on a movie is not always kosher for television. If anything, that network has a deal with McDonalds. Showing that clip would be harmful to both them and their affiliates.

Have you even seen this movie? McDonalds is all over it. The cop thats chasing him right before he crashes is eating a McDoanlds, The cop crashes into the side of a Stationary truck and gets covered in hamburgers and McDonalds wrappers.


So explain to me how this would constitute a "bad" advertisement of the product.

didn't their plane crash? heh I understand it was a natural event which they couldn't control at the time , the same could be said for the McD's truck , I'm not being pedantic just curious, maybe it was a bad example

Alright, then consider the other extreme. That network is partners with Burger King or a competing rival. There's a million reasons for them to not show McDonalds in a 90 minute slot on television.
