WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Texas grand jury on Wednesday charged Rep. Tom DeLay and two political associates with conspiracy in a campaign finance scheme, an indictment that could force him to step down as House majority leader.
And then in the Breaking News Wonder-Box:
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay says he will temporarily step down from his post following today's indictment.
It's about god-damned time. He's been dodging this for way too long now, and telling bald-faced lies to try to cover his involvement.

I doubt he'll be sent to prison, but we can at least hope he'll be removed from his position.

yeah, he won't see any jail time.. on an unrelated note I'd like to see those politicians that left for a week to prohibit some vote a year or two ago face charges..

We need to get rid of parties and vote on platform and person, no more corporate money into politics...

I'm voting for Christopher Walken..

The districts were gerrymandered. They flew out of town, which isn't a crime, to prevent bad legislation because they didn't have the numbers to do it otherwise.

Tom Delay used taxpayer money to illegally command military resources to go hunt these guys down, because they made a controversial move to protect the people's rights in Texas and it interfered with his bought-and-paid for political agenda. Yea, they should be charged with something...

I agree with your statements about party politics though, and I'm actually kinda looking forward to hear more of what Walken has to say.

I've already told you Walken's campaign was a hoax.

EDIT: My mistake, I didn't. I only implied it because I assumed you were joking the last time you went on about it.

So you know that it's a hoax? I wasn't sure. How did you find out?

I personally took a major hint when all the news outlets and Walken himself said it was a hoax.
With one half of the typing you just did, you could have gotten your point across, and answered my question completely, without sounding like a prick. I'm personally glad you opted for more effort, just to send a gentle reminder to everyone that they probably don't need to bother reading your posts.

That's customer service. :icon14:

Oh shit, looks like Jack Abramoff might have some explaining to do too.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 00980.html

Three men have been charged in the Florida killing of Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis in 2001.

"Gus" sold Abramoff a gambling boat a few months before he was killed.

Two of the three men charged with killing him were hired as consultants by Abramoff's partner in the casino venture.

He and Delay have been good buddies in the past too, although Delay has started denying it since Abramoff has come under scrutiny.

Scandals, scandals everywhere you look, yet nobody seems to notice.
