no - the stand alone complex series is settled in a 'parrallel universe', where major kusanagi never joined with the AI

but ghost in the shell: innocence (the 2 is just there for the US release, so that no yank gets confused) is settled some years after ghost in the shell. it's more or less a sequel.

if your talking about Ghost in the Shell 2 - Innocence, its not as good as the first.

maybe - not seen the first one for ages - thats bloody brilliant aswell

actually on that subject I got the latest feature length appleseed to other day too - reminedme of the first ghost in the shell because of the openning chain gun sequence(though the rest of the film is abit dire on pacing and plot)

Yeah, both appleseed movies have been rather disapointing.
