Fitness Question - Wat the hell happened

During a Spin class with a shitty non-motivating instructor I was not staying amped enough, the entire class was an uphill climb with no breaks. The last 10 minutes I decided to zone out and just push through it.
I was properly nourished and hydrated. during the 45 minute class I consumed 1 liter of water and prior to the class I had a protein bar.
With about 1 minute to go my right eye started seeing flashes, as if a strobe light was flashing off to my right. During cool down this started to go away, and stopped one the lights were turned on, but my vision was a little blurry. I felt fine, not tired, but on my drive home I was off. I couldn't keep the beat on my dashboard drumming, I had trouble getting the key in my door at home, I seemed a little clumsy...
I feel fine today, any ideas what happened?

I actually put about 80% effort into this class because the instructor sucked. I do this 3 times a week and usually I work much harder.

Get out and cycle or run instead of sitting in a little steamy room full of sweating fat people. It gets to your head.

It's an advanced class full of scrawny cyclists, and I get more out of 45 minutes in that class than I do with 3 hours of cycling...

you had 1 liter during class, which is adequate, but how much water did you have prior to class? sounds like mild dehydration to me.

Could it be retinal detachment/tear? What else can cause flashes of light? If you get it again go to a doctor.

Sounds like normal fatigue to me.

i get fatigued plenty but don't experience any "flashes of light".

Yeah the flashes of light is kinda odd, only time I've heard of it is with retinal tears (could be serious) but perhaps it's something else I'm not a doctor.
Acctually I found out about this when I went to my doctor because I noticed when I look at bright/white things or even the sky I could see little transparent particles floating by, I found out it's quite normal and I either stopped noticing it or it went away but the doctor did ask me if I had white flashes. Anyway.

Yeah maybe not afterward when your body is fatigued but if you were doing intense exercises at the time you might.

If you feel better the next day and it goes away I'd say your fine but if it's something that continues to affect you even though you've slowed down on the workouts and perhaps not try to overexert yourself then I'd get it checked.

Flashes of light are common before migraines and atypical migraines. If it was an atypical migraine, you would not have the pain, but your senses can still be thrown off or become hypersensitive. By the time you got home that aura effect might have shifted to a less noticeable spot and made you appear clumsy.

The person that told me this may have been bullshitting, but supposedly they're dust particals and you can have your eyeball cleaned to remove them. Supposedly.

I live on water, I generally drink between 6 and 8 "1/2 liter" bottles of water a day, then on days I have the class I drink an additional liter or two. Which is way more than enough

I've got another class Saturday, hopefully this doesn't happen again...

No headache followed, I felt perfectly normal, just a little clumsy

Sounds like a bunch of crap. I'm pretty sure most people have them you just have to look at something bright to see them, I noticed it once while looking at the sky/sun in clouds. They are called floaters btw.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floaters
I used the see the dots and really small/thin trasparent lines the other object is huge, never saw anything like that.
