lifes way too short ...

... to spend 40 hours a week of it feeling isolated and unhappy.

I'm at home having been pursuaded by my boss to take some think to think over my request to resign from long term well paid contract ..

no time or energy left at the end of very long days trying to keep EVERYONE happy (the joys of being in charge of a team in all aspects from planning, development and also anaylsis) - and no fucker bothering to motivate me..

the final straw - I'm an old fart and its been a very long time since I've feelings so strong for a girl that I can't stop thinking about her .. we work together - we've had a couple of drunked snogs - BUT i'm her boss - and also she in a long term and actually planning a family ..

today it was just too much - too tired, too unhappy -

bollox to it all basically

Yup baiscly this life that we as atleast americans lead is getting pretty tiresome. Thing is you dont realize just how bad it is for 10+ years so people just stick it out. Me, i been trying to make this 2.5 kids and house witht he white picket fence thing work, but its down the drain and isnt in the cards and fighting it is just making me sick to the " soul " level for lack of a better term that doesnt assign religious affiliaitons.

Basicly right now ive decided im moving to hawaii and am going to surf as much as i can and live life to its most fun dynamic. I mean we drag through our lives in the hops that some day we can retire and THEN we can enjoy it, but guess what, your so old you cant do anything you wanted to. Gay.

Im going to talk to my boss saturday and im going to tell him that im going to be taking a month off work every 4-6 months from now on. Im going to travel to places and surf and make videos of where i surf, then after a year and half of traveling im going to go to hawaii or a better place and full on ofllow my dreams. I dont care about money, i dont care about sports cars, i care about what makes me happy.

Its like this, if you follow your desires, how can you not be happy. Even if you fail, you followed your dream, something most people put on hold to do these things in life we are told to do. These preconditioned, self replicating human behaviors that exist on a primal and sub concious level. These social and religious frameworks that are put in place do not have to be followed by all to ensure the perpetuation of human life and if you ask me if we all fit the mold, we would be a hunhappy, boring race of beings. So by following your dreams, stepping outside of the predefined path of existence you are infact adding to its dynamic.

There is a song that i like..

She's just waiting for the summertime when the weathers fine
She could hitch a ride out of town
And so far away from that low down good for nothing mistake making fool
With excuses like baby that was a long time ago
But that's just a euphemism if you want the truth he was out of control
But a short times just a long time then your mind just won't let it go

Well summer came along and it then was gone and so was she
Not from him because he followed her just to let her know
A dreams a dream
And all this livings so much harder than it seems
But girl don't let your dreams be dreams
You know this livings not so hard as it seems
Don't let your dreams be dreams
Your dreams your dreams be dreams

Dont let your dreams be dreams dude.

Welp, I've hit the same rock you guys hit.. I've been working in IT for 12 years now, and last couple years just have lost all interest in getting certifications year after year and keeping up with technology, I'll probably still do it on my own for games, etc but I'm pretty much about ready to hang it up on the IT field.

Talked to the wife, luckily she's making mad money at the moment working for INS, so I'll be leaving work in the next few months, to hit school again full time to get my degree in graphic design...

I tried the speciality schools to get my computer animation degree, got about 6 classes to go to get my AA, but if your loans approve you pass at those schools, so I'll be damned if I pay them 12k more to get those final credits..

Going to a state college to get the degree, and finish working up my portfolio, site, 3d modelling, texture work, etc instead of putting 40+ hours in at a place I don't see working for another 20 years.

That's cool that you're stickig up for what you beleive in, I sorta know what you mean. When i was working over the summer for my council, we had drivers here that went rock bottom from working in IT. And they're drivers now, they couldn't cope with it.

There's this one refuse driver i used to know who's got degrees coming out of his ears in molecular biology, but he just broke down after work. Can be harsh.

I wonder how.....if i cope in the IT industry. *Completes IBM application*

If you are quoting what I said above, not jealous of the wife at all, I'm glad she makes mad cash and I can quit my job and go back to school full time. That's awesome! What's her's is mine and what's mine is mine.. :D

Even tho I did not start working full time yet. Since I have more school to finish. My greatest fear has been, that I might start a career, and then hate it. Thats why I still have NO IDEA of what I want to do. Even tho im 20.

Thats why every opertunity I get, I love to do something on the action side of sports. Like Mountain Biking and Snowboarding. I decided that I need to follow my love of Mountain Biking(competitions), even as I go trough school.

Because, fuck it, I do not want to become a transperent peace of glass, that no one knows it exists. I shudder so hard when I turn the radio in to some of those "at the office" radio stations and lissen to what/how they talk about stuff. Water cooler conversations, mindless robots drinking big coffie mugs in cars, all that shit. I want to so badly get oway from a life like that. I COULD NOT do something like that. "The Office" Uuugh!! :icon32:
