I simply cannot believe that people are fawning over Downey Jr for his role in Sherlock Holmes. He didn't do any acting at all...he was simply his own, goofy self. In fact, I'd call it his worst acting performance since "U.S. Marshals".

I think people are getting swept up in the euphoria of the movie instead of being objective. In other words: People are fucked in the head.

I disagree with your characterization of his performance, to a point. But, I liken it to Denzel Washington's roles. He always plays the same guy (himself), but he, just like Deniro, does it exceedingly well.

Now that a DVD rip is out, got a chance to see it... Was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Very good film, cant wait for the next.

Twilight = 3/10 - Boring as fuck. It's a chick flick...which explains why it sucks so bad.

Hurt Locker - was quite good. i somehow thought it was more of an indy film, but it really wasn't. solid acting throughout, IMO. gotta mention that i liked Generation Kill better, but i guess that's apples & oranges.

Watched a few Blu Rays this weekend, starting with Gamer by the guys who did Crank 1 & 2, and starring King Leonidas.
Cracking film, and a lot better than I expected. Some interesting ideas in it too.

Then I watched the Edward Norton Hulk, which was okay, although the violence was very A-Team. Fine as a popcorn movie, but nothing going on up top at all.

Last night I watched Leon again, although the Director's Cut Blu Ray had loads of content I'd never seen before which really added to the story. Brilliant stuff.

And tonight I just watched the first half of Red Cliff. Spectacular visuals and quality battle scenes plus a Chinese Brian Blessed = win. Looking forward to the second half. It comes on two Blu Rays, and each half is 140+ minutes long!

15 Minutes = Absolute shit/10 - Easily the worst movie Robert De Niro has ever been in and it is to his credit that his character was killed off half-way through.

The film's horrible writing, horrible dialogue, horrible editing, horrible acting, horrible music and completely horrible cheesiness make it a laughable attempt at entertainment....not even close to comparing in quality to such epic films as "Dude Where's My Car?" and "Tootsie".

While made in 2001, this movie has 1980s television cop drama stamped all over it. Best viewed when comatose.

Heh, funnily enough I saw 88 Minutes [Al Pacino] a few weeks ago and it's easily the worst Pacino movie I've ever seen. Don't know why he would willingly take shots to his reputation like that

The Wicker Man remake - I actually think this film gave me cancer... It was one of the worst films I had ever seen. Nothing interesting happened for nearly 2 hours... Ugh...

Day of the Dead Remake, right after - Who the fuck gives these people money to make this tripe? Dawn of the Dead remake was awesome, this... This was just... What?

Yes. "Fuckin weird ass movie" doesn't even begin to describe it. Lars von Trier has completely lost his mind and it's no surprise that nobody wants to work with him anymore. The guy is a certified head-case.

Surrogates: 4/10. Falling asleep at the 30 minute mark is never a good sign. Semi-interesting premise ruined by clunky execution and retarded plot.

Moon: 8/10. Good stuff. I'm a sucker for sci-fi with an intelligent story and honest-to-goodness character development. Unlike ala M. Night. Shamalamadingdong, the 'twist' is revealed during the first 3rd of the movie...and that's all to the good. You are not sure where you are headed for the rest of the film. Highly recommended.

sounds like that S. Korean flick 'The Chaser' I posted on the last page, they tell you up front who the killer is then you're along for a wild ride.
The Chaser was still pretty conventional. Without spoiling too much I'll give the girl character and how he drags her around with him as a single example. Not a bad movie though, I just wouldn't call it unconventional.
