K, a starwars reference, then. Thanks.
The goddamn nerdery of it all
But I won't help derail the thread any further...

Because I saw 'Funny People' last night.
Judd Apatow just keeps cranking them out, doesn't he?
And I keep watching them, expecting the freshness of Cable Guy and Larry Sanders.
But two and a half hours to tell this simple tale, where the laughs are few and far between is a bit insulting.
Still, if I'd have to get all grady, I'd say 6.5/10

some thoroughly excellent performances almost rescue old crescent-moon face's masturbatory alternative universe ww2 epic*.

*and by epic, i just mean that it's really long - this is an episode of the a-team stretched like an la whore's asshole.

Armageddon 4/10

I remembered actually liking this movie when it first came out.

I forced myself to sit through it again tonight and feel incredibly disappointed and used :(

Crank 2: High Voltage 8/10
Brilliantly hilarious, think i laughed all the way through this one.

2012 3/10
Even the fast forward button did not make this one bearable.

year one

6/10

worth the one watch but unless you have some sorta vendetta against the bible i can't really see watching this one again...at least not for a while. some scenes were pretty damn funny and 13 is always a plus in my book, but a good chunk of the time is spent waiting for one insignificant action to lead to another. story thread is hairline thin, and unless you're paying attention, is easily broken.

anyone watch "ink" yet? *looks back through thread...*

synopsis:
almost everything we eat has some kind of corn product in it. . Average fast food hamburger consists of the meat of 100-1000 cows because of the slaughter techniques now used. The major E-Coli outbreaks pertaining to food is because cows cant properly digest the corn they are fed so new forms of the bacteria grow in their bellys and are shit out and spread on farmers fields...

Summation: dont eat processed food. Organic / locally grown food is better.

If you gave a shit.. you already knew it. Typical Preaching to the choir Doc.

trailer:

I'm not against fresh, local, "organic" food. And I certainly agree a lot of the shit we eat could be much better for us. But Farmer's Markets can't sustain the entire world population.

Inglourious Basterds = 7/10 - Not great, not bad. Tarantino loves him some gore and this movie had plenty. Acting was pretty good (especially Brad Pitt and Christoph Waltz), cinematography was very good but I was let down with the recycling of several "Tarantino regulars" in the cast.

**SPOILER ALERT**

I laughed my ass off when Hitler's face was turned to mush. It was over the top and obviously meant to be.

really? i found it helped a lot.

the action sequences were a lot of fun, they get the prophecy shit out of the way early on and the schmaltz is laid on thick. it's no 'towering inferno' but in a few years time, this'll be what passes for great holiday/sunday afternoon entertainment - for half-watching between a heavy dinner and a pan clogger.

spoiler:
wtf happened to the russian girl at the end? if she didn't make it then surely john cusack is directly responsible for her death. would've given this a 4 if it wasn't for that.

The Men Who Stare at Goats - 6/10 - highly amusing in places, but not as good as i thought it would be given the acting talent on show

Inglorious Basterds 5/10

It was like this movie tried to be too many things at once and subsequently failed at being any of them. Save for a few entertaining scenes I found the whole thing very tedious and devoid of any sort of point to be honest. Which I think is a shame, because a few individual actors really give it their best… Same with the dialogue, good build up of tension here, total garbage there, what the hell.

Too serious to be funny, too funny to be serious, too weird to be right and too right to be weird… watching this one will piss you off mainly because you realize if this movie had been made 15 years earlier in Tarantino’s career it could have been excellent.

Did Inglorious Bastards just come out in some areas? Just curious, because it seems many of you recently saw it, but it's not even out in theaters here anymore. Or maybe a good warez version was released?

Oh, also Crank 7/10

Would prolly have enjoyed it more if i'd seen it before Crank 2, but that's just because the second part is a little faster and more over the top. Very funny stuff

Well Boobvein, there's a period when it's not in theaters nor on DVD. That's why I was wondering if it was recently released in a particular place or is just being warezed...
