but i do agree that it is reletivly short, but thats why "The Aftermath" is comming out, to compleate the Story...
Aftermath will do anything but complete the story ;)
most likely :D

i wish they did a OpFor kinda thing for HL2 :icon14:

Yes, because when i said that preposterous comment, thats EXACTLY what I meant. 64x64res palleted textures on bare walls.

Fuckin hell go out much? Let it go. Or do you have nothing else to do in life other than try to win and have the last post on a forum on the interweb?

True true! I've played through it 3 times now. I want Aftermath soon =)

Played through Blue Shift today. It was recently released on Steam and I never played it, but I've had it for years. Very short playtime though :/ but ok fun.

Just for you, here. Prison. Apart from that computer map model in the back, the geometry could be done in Quake 1's engine.

Yes, I'm well aware you couldn't do coast, or the lighthouse, or other places in the Quake 1 engine. Thats why i said some places.

Anyways, while your thinking up your next witty reply as to why this "next gen" shot has so much detail (which has nothing to do with the gameplay, and i never said it did before you bring THAT up), i'll be taking a shit.

FFS it's 2005.

I've now gone back to the old style skin for Q3W. I don't want my 2005 forum graphics looking like Mario 2
:olo:

Get a new monitor you fucking grandpa, they stick out like a white boy in Africa.

Memphis wrote:Yeah, I bet everyone was pissed off that the game actually ran on their PC too.

I think ALL games should have a ridiculous amount of polygons, textures and other nerd jargon to stop the game running smoothly and playing well on their PC.

Contrary to what you claim Odirunt, what you're dribbling about is DIRECTLY related to gameplay.
Wait, so in other words, now your flaming me because I said the games fantastic, even though the world can be a spot bare at times?

Fucking hell, some people act like a cunt just for the sake of it.

Yeah HL2 runs so great thats why people who can run even Doom 3 cant run it. Fantastic that is mate well done there. Its amazing how before you was trying to tell me HL2 is full of detail and im full of shit, and then as soon as i shut you up, you start on about something totally different.

Come on, ill let you out of the corner i've backed you in. Come on now. I', going for a shit, for real now. Dont look :olo:

yes, i take your point. apart from the fact that this shot is set in a prison not an ottoman palace, apart from the hi-res textures, the normal/spec-mapped npcs, textures and phys/static models, the high-def light/shadow and the fact that it's 32 bit not 256 colour, and the high model polycount IT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN Q1

sorry mate but i think you prised open this particular can of worms with your own two hands. if you'd said 'some of it's no more detailed than call of duty or MoH' i'd have said 'ok, that's a fair enough point - it doesn't look so hot if you run it under DX8.1 so i can see why someone might think that' BUT NO

He's not talking about the texturing and all that. He's talking about the brushwork. It's simple block rooms with not much detail brushwork in places. And only a few at that.

Lol. You fucking idiots should google images 'prison' and take a look. Simple block rooms with not much detail in places!

Oh wait look I'm wrong:
Image
Rawbert Deniro here says 'as you can see, clearly high detail and curvaceous'.

Image

Check it out.. I don't know how that guard can walk straight when he's twisting his ankles on all the curves.

Image
See also the screenshot above, clearly from Quake 1.

I've got news peeps... there is very little detail in real prisons.. what are you looking for, crates? Mebbe some TVs.
