yeah, those challenges really need higher XP rewards.
i mean seriously 5,000 XP for getting a bajillion critikills is rather a drop in the bucket when you can't obtain the numbers required until you've humped out 40 levels or so. Though it is a nice touch to have extra incentive to squish dogs with a car.
still this is the best co-op game we've found since dynasty warriors. DLC better be available on all platforms (COUGH gta4) or I'll kill someone.

Is there a way to use your single player character in multiplayer?

Yup, it's apparently seamless with no restrictions. Not tried it myself, but Gearbox were very vocal about this prior to release.

Yea single player and multiplayer share the same characters. But the co-op system is awful at syncing up quests so the player with the least progression has to host the game.

For some reason it made me start a new character. I'll give it another try.

You have to select a character every single time you reopen the game and load into multiplayer.

so we got the island of dr ned DLC
bottom line:
(good atmosphere ^ funny story ) + lots of zombies to kill / $10 = good times
it is however short, loosely put together, kind of easy, and the two big "zombies everywhere" fights own the frame rate in split screen

After finishing CODMW2 single campaign, decided to give this a go.
Pretty good, so far.
However, if you're like me, you'll spend a godawful amount of time managing the inventory, selling/swapping out/comparing weapons etc.
It can all get a bit compulsive, but that's the RPG element, I guess.
Combat is alright. Sometimes you're forced to backpedal, because a horde of enemies approaches fast, almost a la Serious Sam, but it also has its snipery moments.
Plus you can use deployables, like temporary anti-enemy turrets, which is pretty sweet.
Currently playing as Roland (soldier) because that seems the most neutral class for a first playthrough.
But already curious how other classes play, and if there's a significant difference.
I'm not too fond of the graphics. I've seen a lot better run a lot more smoothly.
Also because this is one of the few games I had to tone down the graphics for, to make it run without sttttttuttering.

Yea I was constantly comparing and selling gear until I finally got some really solid stuff. The second playthrough stuff is pretty intense.
I want to know when the hell the PC DLC is coming. Once I got my Brick to 50 and grabbed a few decent items there wasn't much point playing.

The DLC is well made but I really wish they had upped the level cap. After a few zombie hordes its just like "FUCK, OK, I GET IT, *just starts running past all mobs*".

Damnit, I only got the 360 version

I also got the plumber acheivement, it's like one of the first ones I got. It's fun but seems to be dragging on for some reason I never seem to be able to get in the mood to play the game but I guess it depends on the wifey cause we play together exclusively, it's one of those games I'm not allowed to play alone

It's a fun game until you clear the content and then there isn't much point replaying as a new character since the only real difference between them is a single cooldown ability. However, clearing all the content is a good 60 hours or so of fun. I just wish Brick was balanced better for end-game and multiplayer matchmaking made more sense.

Brick's good fun until about level 40. And he sucks in MP from my experience. I found that replayability wasn't too bad if you take a different approach to weapons on your next playthrough. SMGs used by Sirens operate quite a bit differently than pistols and sniper rifles for Hunters.

The Mad Moxxi DLC's music is cool, too.

dunno what it is about this game, but it scratches a deep itch that is never fully satisfied for me. i've played through the game at least 4 times, done the zombie island dlc and a good chunk of the secret armory dlc all on the xbox and it's still a fresh as the first day i played it.
I caved and went ahead and purchased the 4 pack. at $75 you're basically getting the 4th copy free.
is it possible to set this game up so that you can allow buddies to join your game without having to invite them on the pc? this game is hella fun and being able to have peeps come and go makes it all the better.

lol yeah. the most i ever played with was 3 with shaft and doomer on the xbox. that was pretty intense cuz shaft and i were rollin 30-ish soldier, siren, respectively while doomer was about 10 levels below us as the sniper guy. dudes were super hard and doomer kept getting killed left and right.
lag is pretty easy to work around with in this game. chat is silly though. i haven't really looked, but there's no immediate option to enable a console to see chat which makes communication a bit tough. that coupled with the fact that chat makes no sound makes it incredibly easy to miss out on stuff.
regardless it was still fun and i see myself maxing out another siren, for the third time. i've messed around wit all the classes and the siren is the only one that keeps me wanting to come back for more.

how so? i'm rather enjoying hoovering up loot, swapping out gear, scoring crits, stacking stats and whatnot
it's got an ever so slight hint of fallout3/bioshock when it comes to scavenging around the environment and vendoring random guff for better guff, having a mate or 2 in tow makes it all the more fun though. Siren's phasewalk is cracking for unfucking a situation and overall the way the characters move is the smoothest and fastest in any game i've played since Q3. Maybe i'm just getting bored of all that realism crap, but so far it's definitely £15 well spent
edit: oh and the Fireflyesque western-tinged ambient soundtrack is fucking beautiful
linear gameplay mechanic (go to A, get mission, go to B, kill X amount of baddies, return to A) which drove me absolutely insane after the 20th or so time.
a plotline that made no sense whatsoever.
shitty characters.
weapons hording got old fast, especially with team mates who hoover the shit out of everything they see!
combat was crap. it's an rpg masquerading as a shooter, but falls flat on both counts. with 4 players, i literally had to shoot even the smallest monsters a million times. it wasn't hard, just boring.
every. single. mission. was. the. fucking. same.
zzzzzzzzzzzz
i was really excited about playing it too. me and my l4d team all really got into it for the first few hours, but we univerally agreed by the time we got to level 20 or so that this game is just a little bit crap. i haven't played it since.

Me and the wifey play this game quite often, hit me up with a friend request on xblive and we can get a 4 player game going someday

Just finished the armoury last night with a couple of buddies on LAN and IMO the game has some great co-op and re-playability. If you're on PC theres a clipping error right at the entrance to the armoury before you cross the threshold and set off the timers where you can fall through the floor without setting them off. As long as you quit instead of setting off the alert after you can loot it more than once and don't have any time limits while doing so.

It's a fun game but really one of those games you need to play with other people to get the most out of it. Playing alone can get tedious, I never realized how much I would miss real NPCs until I found myself mindlessly going from one way-point to another without much care for what I was doing.
It's not a very good fps and it's not a very good rpg, it is a fun co-op game.
