I wouldn't buy a gamecube if it was my only console.... Shitty game library.
Meh have you played Katamari Damacy? Cheap little gimmick game from the freekish land of Japan.Mat Linnett wrote:Whilst the PS2 may come in for a lot of criticism by o'dium, I've been sorely tempted to buy one recently for 3 titles, and 3 titles alone, none of which can be got on any other platform:
Ico, Katamari Damacy & Rez (well, Rez can be got on the Dreamcast, but yer know wot I mean).
All 3 are unique titles with inspiring gameplay, and when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter what console you get as long as the gameplay rocks.
You know what my first 3 DS games were?
Polarium, Warioware & Zookeeper, only one of which could be considered popular, but the other 2 are stupidly addictive; especially Zookeeper in 2-player mode.
And do these titles have spectacular graphics?
No.
Astounding audio?
No.
Rock-solid, crack-like "Just one more go" gameplay?
Yes, and they have it in spades.
I did pick up Mario yesterday, just to see how it translated to the DS, but it's the game I see getting the least play time.
Browse around, find a source of reliable information and decide on the console you think will give you the most bang for your buck.
Don't be swayed by how many "Triple A" titles a platform's got, such as Halo, Metal Gear, GT4, GTA:SA or Zelda.
These titles, whilst all good, are not what gaming is really about.
They're made-for-the-masses, instant hit, cash-cows ('part from Zelda).
The gems such as Viewtiful Joe, PN03, Zookeeper, Ico, etc. are the types of games you should really be keeping an eye out for.
Oddly i agree with rep here.. PS2 just basicly sucks anymore.. theres a few "gem" titles but most of those are 9.99 or 19.99, really obscure games nobodys heard off. only thing PS2 is good for..o'dium wrote:I go into my shop. I look at the PS2 bay. I spot hundred of titles, all of which are shit, bottom of the barrel "made on my dads pc using mspaint" stuff.Pext wrote:so... gamecube and ps2 have the same amount of top games while ps2 still has got additional myraids of mediocre ones you can waste some time with?o'dium wrote:People always moan about PS 2 having 10 titles to cubes 1. What they forget to mention is that 9 of those titles are PURE SHIT on the PS2, and only 1 is gold.
I walk over to the cube, i see a few shelves worth not much, but pretty much every one has that nintendo shine.
Quality > quantity.
Yep.. one of the FEW gems that the PS2 has..U4EA wrote:Katamari Damacy may not look great, but it plays real well.
game is great. soundtrack is even better.SOAPboy wrote:Yep.. one of the FEW gems that the PS2 has..U4EA wrote:Katamari Damacy may not look great, but it plays real well.
i bought a PS2 for katamari, but after 30 times of beating it over and over, it gets a little old.. need some new levels..

So we're conveniently forgetting Gran Turismo (3+4), Ico, San Andreas, Devil May Cry (123), Midnight Club, MGS, Onimusha (123).SOAPboy wrote:Yep.. one of the FEW gems that the PS2 has..U4EA wrote:Katamari Damacy may not look great, but it plays real well.
