When I was salesman in pc shop....some ''lady'' came and asked me do I have fresh bread...I said no and than she started to yell at me ''what kind of shop is this....shop without bread and milk is not a shop''....and than she went out. Few days later, again some lady came inside and bought wireless mouse...and after few hours she came back and started to yell at me ''how dare you to sell me broken mouse....it's not working''....and than I asked her did she put batteries in. She took it back and went out without saying anything. And funniest situation was when some guy came in shop and asked me do I sell hooks so he can put he's cow meat on them....lol....it's sometimes funny to be a salesman.

EDIT: back on topic....I called game shop today....they still don't have q4 in stock.... :icon33:

Best Buy here doesn't have it until tomorrow.... Fuckers.
Same thing here. I asked, and they said their shipment comes in tomorrow. So I went to GameStop. They had it, but not the SE which I want. So I then went back to BB. At the game rack, while I was grabbing the "preorder box" a guy came up next to me and grabbed two. He looked confused so I told him what was going on. He said he had just called that exact store and they said they had it in stock. :dork:

BestBuy is a bunch of idiots, I tell ya. Well, the guy walked away with his pre-order boxes and so did I...so I guess they're still getting our money. But it's only because they're so damn convenient (I can walk there from work and back at lunch).

However, I'll have the SE tomorrow for $30 (after $30 gift card) so it's not too bad. sigh...

Yea, the launch was pretty pathetic if I do say so.

But I finally managed to find a SE DVD version at an EB Games out here. Nobody else had the DVD edition, including other EB Games stores. I called every game shop in town.

Well I've spent a few minutes playing the single player and it looks like DOOM 3 without the monster closets. It's also a bit brighter.

Fuck Best Buy.

So...when I went and bought my pre-order of the game, the pre-order box has a sticker on it that says the pre-order applies to either Quake 4 or Quake 4 Special Edition.

I wasn't completely satisfied with that, so I went and clarified this with a Best Buy employee. He stated that was the case, I am guaranteed a copy of either version if I preorder.

So I go back today (after them not yet having it on release day, yesterday) and there are no Special Editions to be found. There are only four copies left of the regular edition in the entire store. I saw the same guy who told me the pre-order guarantees me either version again today so I stopped him. I asked him where the Special Edition boxes were and you know what he says?

"I don't think we have any left. They sell out pretty fast."

No shit you dumbfuck! That's why I pre-ordered it like you said.

So I had him check the computer, it shows they still have 1 copy in stock, so I have him try to find it. He comes back and says that they don't have it. That the computer only updates every few hours, so it's not accurate.

I explain again my situation and he tells me to go to customer service because that's where they hold pre-ordered copies. Hmmm....maybe you should have told me that sooner? So I go to customer service, where there's 10 people in line. There's some guy totally chewing out another BestBuy employee at the counter already.

By the time I get up there, they look around and say they don't have any copies of the game saved for people who pre-ordered. NONE. Not even the regular edition. If they didn't happen to have those four copies on the shelf, they wouldn't have even had a single copy of the regular editon for me to buy on the first day they stock the game. And I pre-ordered!

So I go back to the brilliant guy who told me I was guaranteed a copy of either version and ask when I can get my SE version. He checks the computer. Monday. I have to wait six days after the release of the game, 5 days after they have it in stock, to get the version of the game that I fucking pre-ordered?

What the fuck is a pre-order for then?

So they still get my money this time, but only because I have a $30 gift card there. I'm waiting until Monday to get my SE and then I'm never going to Best Buy to buy another game. Ever. They just lost my business.

Consider me one of the many who has a complete hatred for that company.

P.S. Before you think I'm overreacting, this isn't the first time I've had issues with them similar to this. I thought I'd give them another try, but not again.

:olo: BestBuy looks good inside, but it's complete shit when it comes to service.

I phoned a local one up to day, asked them if Quake 4 was there. They haven't got it in yet and they have no idea when they'll have it.

lol it's a fact that game shops sell their entire stock even if a few copies should 'belong' to those that pre-ordered them. They figure the person that comes to the store now and then, should get a copy otherwise it could be lost business. They snag your pre-ordered copy and just shrug it off by assuming you will show up x-days later. Pre-ordering games is completely retarted and uneccesary if you live in a big city with tons of game shops. I know nerds go crazy over games but I never had to walk into one of those stores not expecting at least one copy waiting for me.

That's why I get game day releases at EB Games. They allow you to get what ever game type you want (SE or not), they get the games first, they pull your copy and they put your name on it for you to pick up. They even call you to let you know your copy is in.

EB is good stuff....

Well, that just happened here. Nobody had the SE version and wasn't sold out on release day.

Got mine yesterday

Post by Whiskey 7 »

Got mine yesterday.

I too 'phoned the local games store earlier in the week after I saw an "Out NOW" in a local PC mag.

Store said not until 24 October.

Called same store on what I thought was release day here, 19 October, and was told yes have it for sale today :D

Raced over (on foot) and the store was packed.

Waited patienly in line then told they'd just sold their last copy :tear:

Raced again on foot across town to the other (same name store) and secured mu DVD version.

First impressions (and I haven't read many so far) is looks like D3 but plays like :q3: :icon14:
