That is what I always heard.

I at one time said I would never buy an emachines system, but when I read the list of parts in this system I was supprised.

I even checked out to see if the parts emachines put in it were bought as slightly defective or something, but it was all good stuff.

Guess since HP and Dell took over joint operations they decided to try to make a respecable name for emachines.

In most benchmarks this emachines system runs at about 135% of other systems with the same specs.

I can't speak for any other model but as for my emachines system it runs great and for $595 with 6"b/3"t speakers monitor keyboard and optical mouse it was a good deal.

Yes they buy them in bulk.

I suspect that HP and Dell might have given them a special price on the systems just to be sure to sell a few of the newer better emachines systems so people will get to know the new quality put into them.

Damn, you're right. Its good to see that they are finally putting something other than shite parts in those boxes.

That was what I thought. My wife spotted it while we were buying one of those surge protectors that not only have AC protection, but also have a place to connect your cable to prevent surge through the cable line to the modem.

I said "It's a friggin emachines! I'm not buying one of those crap boxes!"
Then we started looking the different systems over looking for a nice little system for my daughter.

Then I read the specs on the emachine. I flipped out.

So I said I'll do some investigating before I buy.

It turns out that AMD, Nvidia, and Gigabyte all confirmed that the parts were flawless quality parts that were a joint purchase made by HP and Dell for the newest emachines series of systems.

From that I gatherd that HP and Dell must have taken emachines over and are trying to make a respectable name for the emachines systems.

I just updated my list again. Decided to get an IDE DVD drive instead of SATA to save a ton of cash, plus get 4 DIMMs of cheaper memory and just upgrade later if/when I need to. Still 2 gigs of memory, so it should be fine.

That's a pretty good system for $1042.98 if I do say so myself. I'm amazed at the amount I save at zipzoomfly with their free 2-day shipping! I just hope it all comes together smoothly.

I, erm, bought an emachine 2 years ago. It's still running. Granted most of the hardware in it now is not original due to upgrades and such. The only failure was the on board ethernet adapter due to a lightning strike. Probably give it to my son when I build my next one myself though. They seem to be pretty decent systems now.

I need to look into on of those surge protectors with the cable hookup. That is exactly what fried my ethernet and modem.

Don't get the cooler master fan. The specs may seem good, but really they don't move a lot of air.

They are well worth getting one.
The one I got was only like $15 or $20 and the company that makes it will replace or refund up to $50,000 worth of any equipment damaged due to surge while the protecter is in use.

I was a little worried about throughput, but it turns out that the protector is good for up to 12,000k up and down.

Also found a 160GB Hitachi drive $40 after rebates.
The deal is good through this Friday.
