i read very early as well

Yeah you're right. I was still talking about 2-3yr olds. Preschoolers wasn't the right word, I was thinking toddlers. I think your suggestions are fine for preschoolers just not the age range Geoff was asking about. At those ages they're learning colors, patterns letters and numbers.

That's great about your daughter, I have two girls in school now and the boy is starting this year. Girls are definitely ahead of the learning curve at younger ages.
