Was it? Oh, hmm.

No Country for Old Men

Thought it was really fascinating. Unfortunately I thought the first 2/3 of the movie was a lot better and more interesting than the last 1/3. Still, I really enjoyed it.

I am Legend - 5/10
it just doesn't make sense with the ending of the theater-release. they took what was a cool idea, from what i've read about the book, and turned it into a less MTV-ish version of "30 days of night" with a little "Castaway" mixed in. *yawn*

That happens because the story starts following llewelyn and anton so much that you start to forget it's about sheriff bell.

I agree that it does. What I was objecting to was Ryoki's suggestion that the movie was somehow incomprehensible if one didn't see the series first. That's just goof.

I understood it perfectly, but I might as well give Firefly a try and see how it goes.

The part with the planet where the Reavers originated from was brilliant though

Just watched Fargo and No Country for Old Men again, back to back, with a friend.

Unfortunately I watched Attack of The Clowns and Revenge of the Shit this weekend. I'm stunned to this day that George Lucas was able to take competent actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Natalie Portman and have them deliver the most wooden, stilted, GODAWFUL performances. And Hayden Christiansen, jesus christ what a fucking shitty actor.

Lucas recently 'admitted' that the prequel trilogy was indeed a bad choice.

The Ruins - 6/10 Moderately decent horror/thriller. More or less a survival horror movie. I liked it.

Southland Tales - -4/10
fucking terrible movie.

Lucas should NEVER direct. Ever.

Let him write. Let him help in the art design phase. But never let him sit in the director's chair.

What a fuckin fag.

Recently saw The Road Home. The story was nicely told, but the story and plot were incredibly simple. I don't think I've ever watched a movie that was so simple. It became nearly uninteresting. Overall it was eh, all right, but not worth watching I think.

Next - 6/10

Entertaining but ironically predictable.

ffs, he can't write for shit. Take a guess who was involved in writing the screenplay for each of the SW movies that sucked balls. He has no ear for dialogue. ZERO.

cinematography, SFX---> his 'strengths', so to speak.

IIRC you're completely correct. I saw an outtake with Mark Hamill and Princess Skank from the first movie and the dialogue was so dry they changed it in the next take.

Let George Lucas play with his plastic toys and VFX (and I hear he's a large cunt about that, too)...but never let him near a movie production (except for his wallet).

Did he write it? I ask, cause I don't know. Dialog was fairly basic anyway.
