Hannibal wrote:The Mist: 4/10 Only about 50% of the movie has some entertaining bits. None of the characters were very interesting and their interactions added virtually nothing to the film. The lightning quick breakdown of social order was forced and frankly goofy. Unlike I Am Legend, this one would've benefited from more monster-gunna-git-ya action.
lol, moron.

OK so I rewatched No Country for Old Men. I have some stuff I can't resolve:
- At the scene where the sheriff finally arrives at llwelyn's hotel, why is the chick floating dead in the pool? I don't see what part she had in that scene.
-Whats the 'missing floor' thing all about?
-------------SPOILERS----------------
She was shot by the Mexicans during the shootout at the hotel.
Can't remember any 'missing floor' thing.

The missing floor thing is in reference to skyscrapers being built without a 13th floor because it's considered unlucky.

Any movie where everyone is trying to shoot everyone else is a fucking shoot em up... what do you want me to call it?
Oh dear, someone wasn't paying attention to the film. Look, everyone's entitled to their interpretation of a film, but to describe the movie as 'a shoot em up' is more than a bit of an oversimplification. I view it as a character drama, albeit a violent one, that details Tommy Lee Jones' struggle and eventual surrender in dealing with an appallingly violent society.
And you got the point.
Saving Private Ryan was a shoot em up too.

-------------SPOILERS----------------
The dead chick was Llewelyn's wife's mother. She was the one that let slip where they were going to be staying to the Mexican drug dealers. And what 'missing floor' thing?
Llewelyn's mother in-law died of cancer, she was just some unnamed woman by the pool.

You're saying the dead woman in the pool was Carla Jeans mother right, in answer to Foo's question?
Carla Jean's mother and the dead pool woman are two different actresses. Carla Jean's mother dies of cancer.

World's fastest Indian. 9/10
True story about the Motorcycle legend Burt Munro. Amazing guy, amazing story. Dude took a 40+ year old bike whose original speed was ~55mph and pushed it over 200 by modifying it in his little garage in New Zealand. Oh, and he broke a lot of land speed records. Oh, and it was 1967.

I'd give it a 7 because it broke a load of consistency with the series but somehow also also brought closure to something that had a lot left in it.

I would give Serenity a 7 and Fargo a 9.

I never watched the show so my expectations of the movie were met quite nicely.

It's better than the film. But having watched the film a lot of relevations in the series won't have much impact, because you already know stuff from the film.

You should have watched the series first... can't imagine the film making sense without doing so.

Then your imagination is as weak as a kitten fart Ryoki. The movie was perfectly understandable on its own terms.
