Origin is crap.

Yes it's crap for all sorts of proper reasons, like EA autobanning people from all their games for forum infractions, but it's also crap on a superficial level. Started it up to play BF3 yesterday and it downloaded a 4GB update, which knowing DICE could be the Karkand map pack or a text replacement in a config file - Origin told me absolutely buggerall about it. Steam's far from perfect, but at least it has a little news ticker for each game and occasionally a changelog. All Origin gives you is the game manual - and if you download that, it's just an epilepsi warning in half a dozen different languages. Ad windows randomly pop up with no option to disable the damn things, and they're not even for games in the same genre as other titles EA know you've bought. It's a shitty games platform, a shitty social platform and a shitty marketing platform to boot. I don't agree with the notion that EA are entirely bad or evil or driven by greed - they're just rubbish.

from about 5 people derp

this is 64 player on small maps:

kind of pointless, but good try with the baiting me to switch to pc... my computer can't really run the game all that well. I can look around, but as soon as anything happens it goes to 10fps.
30 seconds on 64 player games... yeah sounds like a blast. you keep at it bub

Origin (and EA in general) are more crap than you could possibly imagine:

Either you agree to have your privacy invaded, or you can't play Origin games
The new EULA reads: "The non-personally identifiable information that EA collects includes technical and related information that identifies your computer (including the Internet Protocol Address) and operating system, as well as information about your Application usage (including but not limited to successful installation and/or removal), software, software usage and peripheral hardware."

So that's the games you play, the applications you use… even what kind of keyboard and mouse you use. Furthermore, they will still have the ability to provide all this information to marketing partners, without providing a conventional opt-out option. If you don’t like it, EA politely request that you don’t install its software. Because privacy rights are nothing compared to a tailored advert.

In comparison to Steam's EULA, which can gather data on any product related to Steam, EA's is worded in a way that still suggests that it can collect data from anything it deems "related" to its service. While it may be unlikely EA has an abnormal interest in anything not related to its games, the fact remains that if you agree and install the service, you’ll have no leg to stand on if EA decide to see what treasures lie on your hard drive.
Since I didn't care for BF3 in either the SP or MP games (it's never been anything but a huge FFA) I'm simply uninstalling it.

Fuck you EA.

Game has changes so much with this patch... wow... mines are completely useless since they instantly show up on the minimap... I thought they were supposed to be spotted first?

I'm thinking the same thing. Which makes me wonder what in the FUCK they do to test this shit. Also, spawning on vehicles that are already occupied at the start of a match will put you on top of the vehicle. i mean cmon dice. test this shit before releasing.

The mine bug is not on PC, must say i quite like how you can spot explosives now

Also, the new old maps are excellent, each is way better than any of the originals \0/
