I'm toying with the idea of getting a new guitar.
Don't need it at all but yknow.. the jitters.

I completely understand. I didn't need another one either. More is always better though.

How could they stuff it up? Two wires in a telephone exchange clearly marked. A blind person could do the transfer. Luckily for me, the new 'smart modem' is fitted with a mobile phone SIM card and I am back on the internet at about half speed. (6MB/s). They say it will be some days before the job can be completed. Good grief!!

Any of you guitar guys have any experience with locking tuners vs. locking nuts?

Got locking nuts on my own RG and JEM.
To be honest, not a fan. I don't feel they offer enough advantage vs the fact you always need to keep some Allen wrenches around. You can fine-tune with the tuners at the bridge but sometimes you find yourself out of thread there.

As you can tell in the picture, both of mine do as well. I've been toying with the idea of switching to the locking tuners for that very reason. You have to keep Allen wrenches handy and it's a bit of pain if you want to change tunings. I've never dealt with locking tuners and wondering if it would be worth the switch. I may give it a shot.

I had a Washburn N1 with floyd rose and locknut.
Never again, way too much hassle.

You keeping up here?
Today is 14 February, 2 weeks after the 'change over date' of 31 January and I finally have dial tone and the internet connection is up and running.

Hooray!

Hard work and I'd estimate I've spent 5 hours approx. on the phone in queues and in phone calls to rectify.

The nightmare ends  :disgust: .

Just broke a string on my Washburn/Floyd Rose. :olo: I really don't find it that much of a hassle to just change strings though. 2 at a time and you don't have to support the bridge and all that other silly shit. But it still is a bit of a pain. The ZR bridge is pretty much the same setup with bearings instead of knife edges.

I hear Evertune bridges are awesome. Maybe that's an option.
Don't have experience with them myself though.

Just about to go and watch Newport County vs Manchester City in the FA Cup 5th round tie

Interesting stat about the two teams worth:

Newport County Squad - £50,000 - most expensive player; Joe Day - £30,000
Manchester City squad - £470,000,000 - most expensive player; Kevin De Bruyne - £66,500,00

I am not expecting any upsets; Newport County to win 2 - 1

I'll definitely give that a look. Not familiar with them. More options is always better.

Seems like a pretty good design. The only problem I see is that it only seems to come in a fixed bridge. No tremolo at all.

Star Wars IX wrapped. I finished a few months ago but the wrap party was at the weekend, an odd five years of my life.

Haha that's cool. I think q3w, in part, helped open the gateway so consider it giving back to the community.
