why buy a 7800 when ati's new card is less than a month away?
or are you such an nvidia fanboy that HDR+AA doesn't sound useful?

it seems like every time someone is going to up upgrade everyone says to wait until this or that new card/mobo/processor is out...
then when the new card/mobo/processor is out, the recommendation is to wait until the prices drop below their initially high levels at release time. by the time said prices drop, the advice is to, again, wait until the new card/mobo/processor is out...
so here's a question -
what is it that finally makes one bite the bullet and buy a system, realizing that in a few months prices will have dropped and better shit will be available?

Im upgrading because F.E.A.R. comes out soon, and 1280x1024 in full detail with no AA isnt enough.. i want 8X and 16X all the time..
That and i have the money.. :icon29:

normally i wouldn't give a shit and buy whatever but i would wait for the chance at aa with hdr.
edit: it's pretty much 100% confirmed ati's new line up of cards will have hdr and aa.

they wont be dropping one in 3 weeks.
i don't really care either way. if you had purchased a 7800 awhile back i would have agreed just not this close to something better.
