The system rocks.

3dMark05 Score was 7000+ with empty H/D's and one monitor.

My buddy's dual 7800 rig scores in the 12,000 range. :icon28:
So when are you going to spend a ton of money on new computer hardware components so you could tie your buddies score?

Well, nForce 3, yes. But I've heard of sketchy support for the latest processors (Venice/San Diego core, or dual-core) on a lot of nForce 3 boards.

I'm just gonna hold out awhile myself. Too many changes, ATM.

STAY AWAY FROM 6800GT'S and NFORCE 3 MOTHERBOARDS!

Seriously though, there is a major problem with them combined, and new drivers. Newer then the 66's I think. Youre games will freeze at random, and studder for 10 seconds or more at a time, and continue to do it forever!!!!! So yeah, anyone wanna by and Nforce 3 mobo? :)

POOINYOURMOUTH, how did you get FEAR to run @ 1280X1024? Its not in my config settings, and I dont see a config to manually set it. Could you tell me how to set it to that res? My monitor doesnt look good running @ 1280X960
Good info, SKID. I wouldn't buy an nForce 3 board now that nForce 4 is out, but it's good to keep informed. :icon14:

When I feel like it... I'm prolly just gonna get another 6800 Ultra and be done for awhile. There's no need for that much computer right now.

-SKID- wrote: Exactly, I bought my 6800gt right after HL2 came out. I put away finishing D3, HL2, and Farcry cause my 5900 just couldnt run them how I wanted. So I bought my 6800gt, and finally wanted to finish D3, HL2, and almost Far Cry :).

But now FEAR is starting to make my puter work again :p.

AMD64 3400+
1 Gig Corsair(might grab another gig for good measure)
MSI 6800GT 256
I had a P4 3GHz, 1gig of RAM and a 5900 Ultra. D3 and HL2 ran at max settings 1024x768.

Please point out where it says windows XP will utilze more than 2.5gigs without third party support or being modified.

I must have missed it.

because your old and blad i'll take pity and point it out.

Note In Microsoft Windows XP and in Windows Server 2003, you can use this command interactively with the current debuggers that are available on the Microsoft download site.

So I guess you just read past the warnings and this.

Note Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) does not support arbitrary /userva settings

What doesn't make sense is that they tell you it can utlize 4gigs but then tell you to alter your boot.ini to utilize 3030mb.

You do realize, if you get a 6800GT now you can't keep it when you go "64-bit," right? AGP now, PCI-E then. Still a good card, but I'm holding out for a CPU upgrade at the same time. I notice a huge difference in taking my 2.4GHz P4 up a few hundred MHz. I can't imagine how much better an Athlon 64 at the same speeds would be. :(
What? No, I thought the 64-bit chipsets fully supported 8x AGP.

It's always something isn't it? >:E
With this socket 939 board, you can still use an 'old' AGP card, plus bolt on a PCIE (1 or 16) later - not sure if they're available everywhere yet though
