And Geebs, your forgetting the biggest problem with sin. They want you to pay £20 for a game that will last an hour, and then wait a few months for the next hour long game to come out. All the time while using Steam, which will most likely crash when you use it like it does for most users now. And when you can get on, it will ask you to install the game AGAIN by downloading all the content you just installed.

In all, when its released, there will be a big flock of people "installing" the game in this way, which means it will probably take longer to install the game than to actually complete the episode.

I agreed with you, until you started just babbling lies..

Steam rarely crashes.. for anyone..

If you seriously have issues with it, its time you fix underlying issues on your machine

And "new epps" or w/e for sin.. you DO realize all your going to do is download a patch with some new maps..
Once you install HL2, you have to authenticate the files over the server, something which should take 20 mins but took hours on launch day due to the servers being hammered. Remember?

Crashes... HL2 crashed for everybody at the start. Many many audio errors, stuttering, bad FPS, GPF's, the whole lot. Still does for many today unless you have a clean system.

No no no.. You're backtracking

Hours? no, i hate to break it to you, but i clicked "unlock" The second they opened it.. i was playing in 25 min, and within 2 hours i had 20+ Screenshots up for reviews..

And were not talking about HL2 here, were talking about a SHIT TITLE nobody cares about.. the world isnt going to be hammering steams servers for sin, itll be fine..

Again, you're backtracking.. HL2 might of had crash issues, STEAM hasent since beta.. Your just a bitter fuck who STILL cant get it working due to underlying problems, but since you think you know everything steam sucks wah cry cry omg steam is shit..

And for the record, HL2 crashed 1 time for me when i was playing SP.. 1 time, 30 min from the end of the game.. and i was about to quit anyways to goto bed..

Oh OK, crashes are fine if you were just about to quit anyway....

Not saying there fine.. but the fact is, it crashed 1 time in the histroy of me playing it..

since day 1.. 1 crash.. id consider that to be pretty stable..

and steam, shit steam has not crashed once since beta back years and years ago..

And those horror storys most likely are cause by 12 year old kids and the mountains of viruses, spyware, and lack of basic computer maintenence.. i mean think about it.. look at the age group of people that USE steam.. id take a blind guess here, and say at least 50% are 14 and under..

Really. I installed HL2 and had to format just to get it working because it would crash at a certain point in the game. And i'm not 13, and i dont fuck about with my PC. I install it all correctly, and have 0 viri.

Think about it.

Did you bother looking up the error.. ill bet that it could have been fixed rather quickly..

Again tho, HL2 isnt steam, so blaming steam for HL2 crashing, pff..

HL2 crashed because steam was in the background. Valves own words.

How can you check the error when you get a crash to desktop with NO error.

Why do you think everything is some conspiracy? Games crash. Some games come out buggy as fuck. Some games get patched every week and never get fixed. Deal with it, its just fucking normal.

HL2 is one of those games that’s forever getting patched. DEAL WITH IT.

Come on man, open the curtains and go out of your room already.

Its not a conspiracy.. its just you always bagging every fucking thing out there without half a clue.. you read 1 post in some bullshit forum somewhere and instantly its truth.. kinda like "all those people having issues with steam" its bullshit..

I know its a game thats forever patched, i didnt say it wasent.. my point was, your bagging steam for no reason, no real basis, and you're being plain ignorant about it.. If you DONT like the game, platform, or app, dont use it and stfu about it..

And im out of my room..

o'dium: Try steam now, it's very stable and updates work fast. Sometimes the updates are kinda a shitty but they fix them, for example they gave us a shitty ct model, then gave a better one after people complained, now they gave us a shitty terrorist midget model, hopefully they will fix it next update.

The texs on that Sin2 game look like they're half finished. They could have a better looking game with no performance hit if they'd spent a little more time on them, drawing some detail in.

looks okay to me. i dont really care about the small things like that as long as its fun. i never got a hold of the first sin :( I think those shots are in game, no tweaks shots. Most shots that get released are supersampled shit that 99% + of users will never see.
i would also like to point out when they say a game will take 20 hours, most regular gamers do it in 15, odium does it in 4.

I can still remember back to when o'dim was SO conflicted about OMG the doom3 engine looks great but OMG the hl2 engine looks great....

I think it fits with Ritual's visual style; and TBH it's nice to see some good old fashioned painted textures rather than that horrible downsampled fuzzy crap you see in Doom3 engine games.

Ritual own at mapping, that's all I know.
