Did you have panic buttons on most of the your old key fobs n all or is this a trend with keyless fobs ?. Can't remember any of the older keys having panic buttons.
Nope. My passat is top of the range with keyless entry AND no PANIC button....

It must be a USA or North American thing then. I've never see one that didn't have it. Most people just use it as the "where the fuck did I park" button.

Yes you have. It's called the Rabbit/Golf here, and the key fob looks just like yours. Nice try though.

Actually, that is a picture of a Volkswagen Polo, not a Golf (which is known as a Rabbit in the US and Canada). The Volkswagen Polo is a slightly smaller, cheaper version of the VW Golf. I'm not sure if you can identify a Golf and a Polo by the keys though but if so, then you kind of proven that Krakus at least has a VW Golf. Perhaps even a GTI.

The VW Polo is not sold as a Rabbit in North America.

A VW Rabbit is the same as a GTI minus a few trimmings and roughly 30HP. In Europe though it's called a VW Golf instead of Rabbit.

Also, all this 2 door crap isn't true. They sell 4 door GTI's.

Polo is a Rabbit, Rabbit was renamed to Golf in 2009...all the same thing.

The car he posted is not a VW Golf in north america. That's all I can state with certainty, and it's also not a Rabbit. I've never seen a car that looks like the VW Polo Doombrain posted in Canada.

Find me a pic of a VW Rabbit that looks like that car and I'll concede.

edit: also none of what you're saying is true. The VW Rabbit wasn't renamed to Golf and the polo being it's predecessor is questionable.

The VW Golf was renamed to the Rabbit and I THINK that was around 2007.

Hmm didn't know that, I stand corrected. Can't say i've ever seen one called a golf around here though except the older ones. Either way since I don't own either a rabbit or a golf I haven't paid that much attention I just noticed that all the newer ones have a rabbit icon on the back of the vehicles and all the older ones say Golf or City Golf.

Also, it's still not the same as the polo doombrain posted.

Well I don't own one so there's that. But I do tend to check out the ones I see on the road and I swear I've never seen any of the newer vehicles with the golf name around these parts on the road. Either way. It's still not a Polo.

Now you have to post it to clear up the confusion...

If you change the search results to Rabbit then nothing after 2009 shows either. So, smells like...

Yeah I noticed that. So... what does that smell like?

So you drive around in the only >2009 VW Rabbit in NA ?

That... doesn't even make sense.

The only reason we're talking about it is because you guys brought it up. If I bought a golf I'd have known their called golfs wouldn't I?

You're the only person that owns a Rabbit made after 2009 in North America ?, because if you do own a Golf you would've noticed.

I think you can even smell it

So basically you went through buying a new car without finding out its now a golf, no longer a rabbit.

No I was just replying to everyone saying a polo is a rabbit/golf thing. When I was car shopping though I thought I was going to buy a 2008 Rabbit originally which is why I did in fact look into it and I discovered golfs were no longer made and they made rabbits now. I didn't realize VW turned around and re-renamed the rabbit into a golf in 2010 it looks like. After looking at the Rabbit I found the GTI more to my liking and it was a tossup between the GTI and a Merc.

That's why I thought the golf didn't exist here and I'm positive the polo doesn't exist here at all in any name.

Well mine isn't 2013 but it isn't called a golf GTI or Rabbit GTI, it's just GTI. There's no other name/badge on it even though they do look like a Golf/Rabbit with a different bumper and engine.
