done it last two years running: 88 miles + 10 miles between home and start/drop off. not exactly TDF but a reasonable challenge all the same

i won't lie, it was hard going 50 miles in even my gels didn't lighten the mood.
i've been very slack in 2012 so will be getting more rides in, just not on my roadie. MTB is the order of the day now, really enjoying scotland and the lakes, super duper fun.

the only challenging thing about the ox-cam ride is the distance. the chilterns are pretty easygoing and there's pub stops every 25 miles or so. wouldn't want to do it non-stop (though there are some mentalists who do, in about 4 hours)
