Seriously, you guys shaken off Katrina yet?
Hope so, but I still have this picture in my head where I see everything covered in mud, and you [lol racisms] not really pulling together to clean shit up.
yeah we're back to normal with a few improvements in the worst areas. Problem is, "back to normal" for us is still shit compared to the rest of the civilized world...at least in mentality and not in our lack of IMAX theaters and the like.

Understood.
I have plans to travel to Maryland/Baltimore this summer to meet my dutchee friend who moved there to work on Linux/ubuntu.
That combined with my fascination for the southern US states, I think I'm heading south after that.
Would you like to hook up when I'm around there?

the footage looks great, but they milked the same 13 minutes of gameplay for the last 2 months

Only took me 3.5 hours according to steam
Not long enough to be repetitive! But yeah, it's definitely a flawed gem.

3.5 hours? Wow, dunno how long I've spent playing it, but if feels far longer than 3.5 hours already...
But I have to agree, there is so much potential in this game, it's just that it's largely untapped. What's there is brilliant, but it just lacks the variety it so craves.
edit:
ah, I looked it up. According to steam I've spent 5.9 hours on this game.

before talking about untapped potential, I suggest you try beating the time trials, both in mission mode and in course mode.
only then does one get to see the potential of the freerunning engine

also, turn off runner vision, it distracts you from the way, way faster routes you can take.

It's gonna suck, i want steam to be my game client but now i'm forced to use EA's crappy clone if i want the game. Or buy my first hard copy of a game in years, after which i'll still be stuck with Origin. Then there's EA's reputation when it comes to trusting them with things like servers, buying DLC and a smooth updating process. Gah.
