Don't expect much to change 1 month prior to shipping. Performance was fine for me. The only bugs I really noticed were the level transition issues, the missing sound files/shaders on a few AI related issues.

I checked a few later levels too and they look pretty amazing. That nighttime NY setting was incredible.
Same. It seemed to be pretty random whether or not something would load correctly or if the video would just freeze and force me to ctrl-alt-del out of it. The controls getting out of the sub-marine felt really bad but I was only pulling 17 fps too (at 3240x1920 mind you).

3240x1920 ? you playing on a TV set? I have a 25.5 inch monitor and it only goes up to 1920 x1200.

anyway this game looks good but fuck me if it doesn't feel boring to run through. I agree with the dude higher up the AI is slightly better than deer in headlights and the whole "on rails" feeling leaves little to be excited about. It's a shame cause the levels look great but knowing they are just background fillers and you can't have your way with all the things you see in your horizon just kills it for me. This "on rails" type of single player gameplay should be a thing of the past.

oh and btw, one of the most satisfying of experiences is missing in this beta... your guns have this kind of "place holder" sound to them right now.

Pretty much echoing the opinions so far. Game's disappointingly generic and nothing special so far. Graphics are pretty pretty, but the best thing about Crysis was the first part of the game where you could roam a large area. That doesn't seem to be present here.

Lots of bugs in this version so I'll wait around for the proper release to judge finally. I can't see it being a purchase for me unless the multiplayer turns out to be kickass.

I'm running triple monitors in portrait mode using Eyefinity.

That sounds nice... alot of pixels for a video card to handle! what v-card you running? I have a GTX460 and the graphics are set to hardcore (or whatever they call it) and I am pretty impressed with the performance in this game.

LOL!!! Bitching about sub-par framerates on the cutting edge of modern graphics playing with a resolution at that setting. You're probably the type that bitches that the Veyron "only" goes 431 km/h with 1000 horsepower.

Huh? I was saying the low framerate was likely the reason why the controls felt like shit.

I only have an HD 5870 in an old Core 2 Duo DDR2 box.

Now that Crysis 2 will also be available for xbox360/ps3, obviously the graphics have been downscaled for them.
I guess this video is a bit misleading in that perspective, in that it's trying to compare incomparable hardware, poopooing consoles =>

Just hope that it's just as upscalable for pc as its predecessor, because it's a great benchmark.
And sadly, that will probably be just it: the next benchmark game, a pimped up tech demo, because I don't have high expecations for this, gameplay wise, tbh.

It's quite understandable the developers broadened their horizon, and try to cater to the console market;
AFAIK the original Crysis engine hasn't been used for any other games. I just hope this time there's more interest, because obviously these guys are pushing boundries.

What is this "demo" they speak of? Oh, right! I remember those, back in the twentieth century.

Good move, EA. You may actually make a buyer out of me.

looks boring
years of playing games gives this sense of "ennui"; this game doesn't look like it will add anything to the linear shooter genre, except shinier graphics :(

Feels nothing like Metro 2033. The shooting in that game was horrendous and was more about the atmosphere.

Crysis 2 takes far more inspiration from COD and Crysis 1. It's like an amalgam of the two, imo.
