Cool speech, good on her for having the guts. I agree her delivery wasn't as good as the speech itself but whatever. Too bad that people think she's being preachy, but as mentioned, 99% of people go through life with tunnel vision. it's the height of disingenuousness to blame "the system" for awarding her with something she's worked for and earned just because winning didn't give her the fuzzy feeling of acceptance/appreciation/fulfillment that she imagined it would. fuck that. if she was a grade-grubbing, brown nosed bitch for eighteen years it's not the school system's fault for not pushing her harder to be a unique and sincere little snowflake and shitting on the school in an acceptance speech is in particularly poor taste. if she felt it was that meaningless she should have turned it down. what could have been a legitimate whine about standardized testing and NCLB is derailed by teenage navel gazing and nonsense about brain washing and slavery.
