I cannot disagree here.
I've seen the first episode yesterday and while it started off decently with some suspense with the White Walkers, as soon as the king showed up it all fell down into something more akin to a Bold and the Beautiful episode set in the middle ages. I was hoping for big battles and such spectacular stuff (like the opening scenes of Gladiator). Not a 13 year old exchanging subtle glances with a soon-to-be-pedophile prince.

Also, is the screenwriter obsessed with tits and beheading people?

The real question I have is: does it get better or does it continue to be a soap opera of savages?

Well... yes I appreciate that, but a first episode should grab me by the balls and fling me around like there's no tomorrow. This, however, bored me to tears. Too focused on relationships between people and not enough on the bigger picture.

Where's it headed? Are we going to see a thrills of a struggle or war against these White Walkers? Is that what it's main focus will be? Or will it be focused on what princess fucked what prince to make a stab for the crown? Since the first episode was 80% about having sex as a career tool, I'm not sure this is a series I'm willing to invest my precious time in.

I was quite skeptical after the first epi as well, but so far every episode has been an improvement over the last. I even got that good old 'holy fuck, gief new episode now!' feeling after the last one.

Yeah, it's still building up. But you can tell from the previews for next week, shit is about to hit the fan. I have a feeling it's going to get very fantasy oriented within the next few episodes...
