Alan Wake review is up
Re: Alan Wake review is up
PC version finally announced for "early 2012", probably to coincide with that XBLA pseudo-sequel they're doing. Anyway it's a great game and it'll be nice to finally play it at a decent resolution. I never played the DLC either, so at least there is that to look forward to
Re: Alan Wake review is up
This was great, just finished the PC version. Is American Nightmare really worth it?
Re: Alan Wake review is up
saw some playthroughs of this a while ago (was also thinking of getting it since the trailers looked pretty sweet). basically you run around in the dark waving your flashlight at ghosts

watching playthroughs...an old man's version of gaming. Do you also get others to do your sexing?
Re: Alan Wake review is up
I enjoyed Alan Wake and finished it, but it *did* get quite repetitive.
So much so that I'm not really enticed to check out American Nightmare.

Meh, I've seen it done om teh interwebs. That's fine. Not going to bother with it myselfTsakali wrote:watching playthroughs...an old man's version of gaming. Do you also get others to do your sexing?
Re: Alan Wake review is up
American Nightmare is much more combat focussed. It's less thriller than Alan Wake, but they kind of trimmed down the fat from Alan Wake and what's left is a pretty streamlined experience. I must say I didn't care much for the arcade type of challenge mode it had, but the story mode is pretty cool. Interesting narrative as well.U4EA wrote:This was great, just finished the PC version. buying games based purely on the trailer and the hype...a dumbass's version of gamingTsakali wrote:watching playthroughs...an old man's version of gaming. Do you also get others to do your sexing?
Re: Alan Wake review is up
lol, that's why people find a reputable source of reviews and judge by that, instead of ruining the experience a game is trying to serve up.
By your own logic, you would sit through an hour 'trailer' of a movie before you decide if you want to watch the remaining 30 minutes or so

Who the hell nominated you spokesperson for "people", you fucking dipshit?
Hmm, I'm going to skip it if that's the case. It's funny how many comments in the Q3W Alan Wake anticipation threads were about how this looked really innovative and how there were mechanics about "not going to sleep" and stuff like that. In the end, it just ended up being a shooter/"puzzle" game on rails, with a mildly interesting combat mechanic [light] and a pretty decent and compelling story. It's not a bad game by any means, it is worth the 8/10s it's gotten. But nothing stellar either. The atmosphere, mood, graphics engine [especially the light], dialogues, etc. were all top notch.Eraser wrote:American Nightmare is much more combat focussed. Re: Alan Wake review is up
I played both DLC's. "More of the same" is an apt description.
