lol, I hit a fanboy nerve there I bet. But let me elaborate on that: I think she's "wannabe" in the sense that she's craving attention. She wants to be a celebrity, period.
All of the celebrities that I admire are in their relative professions for a love of the profession, where being a celebrity is mostly a result of being extremely good at that profession. This Miley Cyrus figure is famous for the sake of being famous. Nothing more.

I think you just set a new record for how many times someone can be wrong in so few sentences. I hate Miley Cyrus' music and don't give a shit about her. I'm pointing out the fact that she's not a "wannabe celebrity". And now you've conveniently dropped the "celebrity" part and classify a "wannabe" as someone who craves attention, which is not the definition of a wannabe at all. Paris Hilton is someone famous for being famous. Miley Cyrus is famous for acting and singing for the past 12 years. Whether you admire her or not means shit. She is a celebrity, period.

Anyone with a fangroup can be a celebrity

Beside the point
By your logic there's not really a wannabe celeb cos anyone with a fangroup can be a celeb. People like Paris Hilton, Jade Goody, Katie Price, Jodie Marsh etc didn't get their status based on talent. They are wannabe celebs and found a way of making that happen, which brings me back to dressing up like a tart.

My point is if you're a celeb, you're not a wannabe celeb.

I get that, I think were treating the definition differently but you did draw a distinction between Hilton and Cyrus. I don't really see it like that.
Anyone remember Vanilla Ice ?
