except that if he/she is the employer they don't need to do that. they can weed out people as they see fit. that's the difference.

Most of the time, what you see in others is simply a reflection of yourself.
Re: To anyone in a position of authority
i agree with kracus!
i have all the faults!
i have all the faults!
it is about time!
Re: To anyone in a position of authority
if people follow comapny guidelines, get the work done and no complaints arise then ive never seen much of a problem, just be fair.
now what i cant stand is stupid dickheads on an ego trip thinking they have the hammer of authority, ive worked with wanker managers which have there own standards then the standards other people need to have, ever been called up for eating sweets only to have the guy having a go at you chewing gum ?
i remember a manager gave me a 3rd warning for forgetting my fucking tie, this cunt had curry stains all over his white shirt !
arghhhharhghgh

Re: To anyone in a position of authority
Don't take this the wrong way cause I think you're a complete tool for the most part but seriously, if you find everyone you're managing is a complete tool then obviously you're doing something wrong.
The quality of the work that people do for you is a direct result of the leadership skills you bring to the table. It's easy to just blame them instead of looking at yourself but all the awnsers are right there.
You've always struck me as a bit of a negative individual, a bit high up tooting your own horn. I would expect exactly what you're describing from an individual like yourself, of course all I have to go by are the various comments I've read of yours on these threads for close to a decade. Who knows, maybe you don't sound like some chick on pms when you're not posting here. I doubt that however.

That was quite lucid, Kracus. And quite right.Κracus wrote:Don't take this the wrong way cause I think you're a complete tool for the most part but seriously, if you find everyone you're managing is a complete tool then obviously you're doing something wrong.

*opinion of Kracus goes up a notch*

Re: To anyone in a position of authority
You lot should be so glad you don't work for the NHS. We have to put up with nurse managers who all act as if they've got some sort of papal mandate to be the biggest fucking bitch they can be. Their hatred of anyone with functioning ovaries is a sight to behold.

I'm not sure if you're addressing me or not but I'm going to respond anyways.Κracus wrote:Don't take this the wrong way cause I think you're a complete tool for the most part but seriously, if you find everyone you're managing is a complete tool then obviously you're doing something wrong.

First of all I wouldn't be so naive as to think that the way I act on here is the way I act in "real life".
Secondly, I know I'm effective in my role because we're having a record-breaking year in terms of revenue. My employees, as annoying and immature as they can be, are a big part of that. What they need to understand is that if they just dropped all of the bullshit we'd do even better - which in turn directly translates into more moeny for them.
In short, sorry Kracus, I am indeed awesome. You should get back to answering the phones or else you'll never get that free Burger King Whopper bonus incentive.
Re: To anyone in a position of authority
I don't know Jackal. A happy employee is a productive employee. Perhaps they're fond of their immature bullshit and when you start taking it away, people will demand your head on a pike.
Are you ready for that? A screaming mob of once happy employees armed with torches and pitchforks running your door down? Listening to their bloodthisty cries of war as they slowly disembowel you?
I hope so.

I'm suddenly reminded of that one scene in Lead Pipe Master IV.
