canada was a british colony, when we became independant we kept the same poltical system as the british, close ties, and the queen remained the symbolic head of state.

we know where our roots are, why deny it?

I think you guys tolerate the royal family cause their life is so fucking fucked that it's like watching a reality tv show about a bunch of people the whole country can't help but stare at if they are anywhere nearby. Which is cool, in a very psychotic kind of way.
