Yup, level shots confirm it. 10 total SP levels, 4 of which are set on phobos...

She was one of the only chicks on Mars, right? After being up there with like one hundred guys and one chick, I'd pretty much hit anything with a vagina.

Hey O'dium -- something I've got to clear up.
I don't know what the super shotgun is called in Resurrection of Evil, but I have discovered an old thread where at least two (and I think three) times you mention that the term "super shotgun" is never used to describe the double-barrel shotgun in DOOM II, and that that term is a Quake II exclusive. In fact, you went so far as to say that "double barrel shotgun" is the only thing it's referred to as in DOOM II.
Thread:

Allow me to retort.
It is not called the double barrel shotgun even once in DOOM II. In the manual, it's referred to as the Combat Shotgun, and in actual gameplay, it's --
Super shotgun.
So there you have it. By the way, what
is it called in the DOOM 3 expansion?

Yup, the Super Shotgun is the entity name used in various Doom2 editing tools...

What, odium talking out of his arse? Who'd credit it?
BTW, those pics demonstrate again what's totally wrong with Doom3 mapping: we'll make a room which is just a cube, and use up a bunch of polys making a load of wiring and pipes stuck to the walls which make no difference to gameplay whatsoever.

so you'd rather have a blank textured wall?
one thing that looks a little annoying is that the grabber gun thing looks like it takes up nearly a quarter of the screen :icon27:

No, I'd rather have some interesting level geometry. I mean ferchrissakes, both Max Payne 2 and SoF II were based in these sort of "real world" situations with essentially the same sort of box-shaped rooms, and both had maps which were infinitely more interesting than Doom3. Alice and FAKK2 are good examples of games with fantastic level geometry.
Then again, I'm a big Halo fan so I can't talk

Take a look around you. Whatever room you're in, I bet it's based on the shape of a hollow cube with decoration in it.

obviously, but some nooks & crannies or just oldskool L shaped rooms would liven things up a bit.
oh and furniture, too

Which is why a computer game set in my house would suck

I think the grabber is awesome, I always try to take out enemies with either that or the dbs.
The dbs sound and reloading animations are pretty bad ass. Its even sweeter than doom 2's in my opinion.
You dont go to phobos, I think its a lab on mars named after it, called Phobos Labs.

I havent tried it yet. I just ran around the maps a little bit. The DM maps are set in the ruins, and hell. Some kind of remind me of quake 1. The ctf maps are all base style, which is a bit of a bummer. They are more open though, and theres some room for strafe jumping.

That was kind of my point.
Halo does feature the Silent Cartographer, though, which IMHO is one of the best single player FPS maps around.

Bad news is -- there is no strafe jumping in RoE. I haven't checked to see if its gone from base yet.

um, yes there is. Its a little harder to do now. instead of holding jump mid air you have to time it correctly as soon as you hit the ground. I think n00bs tried it for 2 secs and panicked when they thought they removed it.
One of the ctf maps also has some boxes stacked up. You have to double jump to get up them, and its a quick route to the flag. not an easy task for rookies.

Oh my, I was at Wal*mart April 1st and saw RoE, of course I tried to buy it, but it set off the bells and whistles on the cash register and the dumb girl just panic'd. So i went back to Electronics and tried to buy it there, guy just said oops put out too early, then they removed them. I think they should've sold them to me, douchebags.

Hey, what happened to the new Doom guy featured in all the magazine ads? He was pretty much the red zig-zag haired guy from the cover of Doom 2; yet, in the final version of the expansion your just some old grizzled ugly dude. =/
