Actually, they were against the top CPL and CAL west clans in Rocket Arena 3 and OSP. Stats and damage are all that matters in 1v1. Say you have the arena set on high health and armor settings (200/100, 300/200, 200/200) with no health or armor protect (rj = negative damage) then the score flies out the window and all that matters are damage and accuracies.

In Rocket Arena 3, no one counts accuracies until after a certain amount of shots.

MG = 100
SG = 100
GL = 50
RL = 200
LG = 1000
PG = 400
RG = 100

So you can't just come into an arena and shoot 10 perfect LG cells and be like, "I'm the best, I have 100% LG accuracy." It doesn't work that way.

As far as damage goes, Quake 3 counts down health and armor if it's set above 100/100. 200/200 would take 4.0 DMG to kill someone, however, you could hit three rails on someone, and if they hide until health drops to 100/100 and hit you with two rails killing you, you would have done 3.0 DMG to them, and they would have only done 2.0 DMG to you.

This is why accuracy and DMG ratio are the only important things, you newb. I bet you play Excessive. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I used to play Rocket Arena 3 on the west coast servers. Last I checked, as of December, the community had dwindled down from close to 5,000 players to 100 in just a year. :lol:

Geebs, have you ever handled an NGage, or are you just another Internet kid who swears by someone else's opinion?

I bet you were talking shit about XBOX's huge original controller the day after they showed it off at E3.

guess it's a matter of taste - got a logitech mouse, a cherry keyboard and a saitek joystick. can't see myself changing that collection of peripherals any time soon.

did try an ms mouse, but the wheel feels bloody horrible.

hmm... but if a lemming had depression, he'd be too down to kill himself... since thats what they seem to do for fun.

:dork: How many mhz does a ps/2 port work on and how much does a USB?
It's Hz, and 60, 125 respectively.

I'd still cite PS2 as being better for Q3, personally. More direct feel.

yeah, thats the sample rate...
and ps/2 is actually capable of 200hz, which i why alot of people use it. since USB sample rate is 125hz.

but!
you can haxor your USB in XP to sample at 500hz (or up to 1mhz... but people have been known to experience system instability over 500hz.)
instructions are here

and here is a little mouse rate sample program that tells you how fast your mouse is being polled.

if he's talking about bandwidth, USB has a shit pile more.
and is much better for newer optical mice, sicne IIRC ps/2 may sample faster, but can only handle ~400dpi of sample resolution. where USB 2.0 can do the full 800-1600dpi that newer mice are using.

so its a trade off... do you want smoother movement or more precise movement?

My MX500 on USB 1.(0 or .1, not sure) says 400hz.

It's not like it matters. Are there any games that actually sample this sort of accuracy?

probably 1.1
i thought the MX1000 was the first usb 2.0 mouse... but logitech doesn't tell usb standards on their site... (oh, that razor diamond back thinger, mibht be 2.0 also, but they also don't say on their site) so .. eh.
and you probably mean 400dpi resolution on the optics.
no mice advertise 400hz, since windows only allows 125hz on the USB and 200hz on the ps/2.
you have to hack the usbport.sys to get higher sample rate from the usb port.
as far as the sample rate goes though, its only a problem if its crazy low... like the old defacto 40hz.
then if a game like quake is rendering @ 120 fps, you're mouse is not moving for 2/3 of the game ticks, creating jerky-ness; and the need for a mouse filter. honesly after dorking around with hacking the usb refresh speed, i can only tell the difference (even in windows) up to ~250hz... everything else is just gravy.

but in the end... its still just a silly pointing device. :shrug:

It goes up to 1000hz too. I used a tool that measures hz, not dpi. The dpi is pretty high as well.

Sample rate specified on the mice are the rate at which it samples the surface, not the one at which it relays back to the PC.

Which is OK, because the mouse itself performs processing on the image.

Of course damage ratio and accuracy ratio are the name of the game but to pretend that osp stats are important is to be a huge moron...I've won games easily with shit stats.

Why?

Because I usually gib my opponent and I often spam rockets into corners to kinda "trap" my opponent for a surprise attack.

So basically I don't give a shit about stats nor morons like you who think Retard Arena stats makes them hardcore :lol:
