They've already announced a new version of Wii with DVD movie playing capability will be launced in 2007. It's hardly unique for the 360.

People aren't buying the PS3 because it's too fucking expensive, not because there are no good games for it. Sony should have taken a clue from MS and every cell phone maker out there, sold their console at a tremendous loss and made the $ up on game sales (or monthly phone bills).

O'Dium, the PS1 and PS2 revisions were not as noticable as this xbox 360 one. For instance all they did was make the tech inside smaller and change one connector at the back.
With the 360 redesign its a massive difference between a 20 gig and a 120 gig drive!!
Yeah i was hoping that the 120 gig drive would be sold seperatly but why do i have to pay more again after i have had my 20gig drive less than 3 months?

If you bought a computer with a 20GB HDD, would you bitch about having to pay money to buy a 120GB HDD three months later?

120 gig drive will be sold seperatly because MS want to turn the 360 into more of a media centre, i looking at it now i don't think the 360 i have can do 1080p, this being the reason for the hdmi refresh

And why wouldn't the 120GB HDD be sold separately?
EDIT: fag

Guys, your all forgetting oen thing... Its optional.
I dont NEED A 120gig drive and probably wont ever need one. ATM, my HDD is nowhere near full, and its got demos and movies, the lot.
You only need it to store your largr movies from the HD store.
But even then... Fuck just plug in an extenal USB HDD? Cheaper, and its THERE then...

You can have FULL 1080p with component cables, its just some TV's are picky.

You cant compare PC's to consoles like that. PC's are built with some level of expandability/upgradeability. Consoles typically, aren't.
Yes previous consoles have gone through different revisions and different hardware but I dont recall one that's been this obvious and having a different impact.
Adding a whole new interface to a console, this is somewhat a rather significant change between one revision and another, and if this new interface provides a better quality to the console compared to previous revisions then undoubtly some owners aren't going to be happy.

lol. i think you'll find.
1. it's not full 1080p
2. 99.9% of TVs are picky
Christ
you know, there are people who know more than you.

Define full 1080P.
Because last time I checked I was playing 1080 progressive HD-DVD films on my downstairs tv perfectly fine, and it looked fantastic.

there's some shit about 1080p is not possable from the xbox even tho there's a setting for it. users of 1080p on lcds say it looks more like 1080i. anyway, i don't even know why i'm replying. MICROSOFT KNOW MORE THAN YOU ABOUT THE FUCKING XBOX AND THEIR MARKET DIRECTION THAN YOU SO SHUT THE FUCK UP

I think its the ability to carry both the audio and video signals from a High Definition source. HDMI can handle it, whereas I don't think component can
