I block the executable from even running on network systems I'm responsible for (along with the other common browsers).

Because as a developer I'm responsible for making my code accessable. Not to mention I'm an ASP.NET developer so I spend a lot of time in debug mode (which runs in IE).Turbine wrote:Why use it then?

I use FF, but, I've never had a problem with IE6 slowing down like that on a new website. They are pretty much the same on the rendering time in my experience.Turbine wrote:Why use it then?

I love watching the reaction of some people, when they say just how smooth the browser feels and runs. For example right now I was running IE6 here in the library. A total piece of shit. it always slows down when opening up a new website, slows down for a good 20 seconds, before rendering. I now installed Firefox 2 and its as smooth as butter.
To bad it will be wiped as soon as someone restarts this computer.
To see just how horrible IE is take the Acid2 test.

I haven't warmed up to Firefox yet. There are too many updates to keep up. I will wait until they have final realease or sommat

No seriously when I'm working I can't be bothered to download an update I need my browser to work right now so I can get my work done. When I'm sitting on the game computer I really could care less.

If you're on the latest release candidates for firefox there's been 3 updates in the past fornight for that update path. But if you're on the main trunk, you'll only be seeing firefox update itself about once per month or so.
What you're probably seeing are your extensions updating themselves, which happens more frequently dependent on how many you have installed. You can turn that off in preferences.
