I like the little cities outside of a big one.

Being it's in the top 20 biggiest US cities http://www.city-data.com/top1.html , I'd say it's a big enough city. Though I'm surprised that Philly is bigger -- having gone there numerous times, it doesn't 'seem' bigger than Boston.prince1000 wrote:
well, first mistake is calling boston a big city, i lived there for 8 years. second, boston has some of the worst traffic in history. because of the big dig roadways shut down, are switched directions, or are only open certain hours thus making you take some stupid assfuck detour down by the design center and the south end. it's nuts. i messengered there for a few years and there were evenings after work i would go to the bar and then try to ride down the streets i had been riding down all day only to find they're torn up or running in the opposite direction.
boston is essentially a large college town. what makes the traffic even worse is the people living on both shores driving to work in an already congested city street layout, no grid. the t does the job but doesn't run very late. it's also quite expensive to live there.
edit: i forgot to address the fuckwits that don't pay attention...um, that was probably just the tourists.
