He's in shock. When someone gets shot, it hurts like a bitch, probably a lot more than the scissors, but rarely someone screams in agony. Usually people are like "oh shit I'm I've been shot, I've been shot! I need to go the to hospital".

As someone who has worked in special effects a bit, I'm leaning towards fake. I only watched it once though and can't be bothered to watch it again.

Exactly. I've been shot in the finger. I didn't feel anything for a minute or two. I just kinda looked down and said 'Oh shit, I fucked up.' I even had time to go to bathroom and wash it off a bit before it started hurting.
