Its not outside adspace. Its just to advertise our current releases. I wouldn't dare put shitty adverts on the site.

still, maybe the inhouse ads are going to be used externally too, and then theyd have to make a specific version to fit those needs.

Nah, they won't be. I'll be in charge of all the images, and they wont be used anywhere except on our site. I will change it to 150x150 though just to make it easier for myself

that header is still taking up way too much space though. it doesn't matter if the site is intended to be an enhancement to a real-life business and just act as advertising - but if it's going to be a functional site that gets a reasonable amount of traffic, you want the header to be as small as possible.
i'd agree with pnliead that there's not enough coherence to it yet :
the buttons on the right with the diagonal motif that isn't being used anywhere else.
the forward slash being used to separate links on the main menu and separate words on the buttons.
the gap at the top and bottom of the column on the left - without anything else in the design to indicate why that gap's there (e.g. it being used somewhere else) then it just looks like a html bug.
if the ad-space is for internal promotion, it would look more natural above the group of buttons.
it'd be worth thinking about the mouseover/highlight colours now rather than later, they can have a big influence on your layout/colour choice.

Hmm, i'll see what they say. I'm liking it so far, but theres still a lot to do.

for ex if you give it the widescreen look, the 600 x 800 ers get all wah o wah.
im sure youll work it out.
