But the seventh day is a Sabbath to God your Lord. Do not do anything that constitutes work. It was during the six weekdays that God made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. God therefore blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Honor your father and mother. You will then live long on the land that God your Lord is giving you. Do not commit murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not testify as a false witness against your neighbor. Do not be envious of your neighbor's house. Do not be envious of your neighbor's wife, his slave, his maid, his ox, his donkey, or anything else that is your neighbor's."

there is no natural purpose of things. meaning only comes if things are observed by an intelligent being.

Meaning is subject to personal perception; so is life.
I think the real challenge is living your life in a way that you're regularly reminded of why you enjoy it. What more can you really ask for?
But yes, it's a loaded question IMO.

I don't see any purpose to life aside from the circular need to keep it going, that's about it. No "meaning" either, whatever the fuck that question's supposed to mean.

There is no meaning to life. There just is life.
meaning of life

I thought of this while high, talking with friends about what is the point of trying...
the meaning of life is to represent your god. Some people may have many gods, some, like most north americans, have one god. And we call him god. How original.
God wanted his people to do good, the ten commandments, the bible, based upon stories of 'good' and good people and things defeating and killing 'bad' things.
We have cops, judges, governments, all trying to make sure we serve God and do good. Sometimes we may have to do evil actions, ones that leave something on your conchinse, but the end result is you are trying for is good. We try to succeed, because thats what our fathers want us to do, what our teachers want us to do and our priests want us to do.
The society we live in, is a shield for the weak. We have become such a teamwork oriented race that the weak humans are still here, using valuable coal, oil, cutting down our forests and eating the crops. All because we are equal supposedly, a human is a human. A little scrawny shit like me and a general in the military, we are equal. We have the same rights to live under our government. I think its time that people stop being mr nice guy and our race really tries to succeed. We stop using our vauable resources and stop depleting our earth of what makes it the perfect living environment. If a kid is going to do drugs, be a nothing, eating food, driving a car, basically taking advantage of what smart, strong and creative people have thought of, he is a prime example of a waste of skin in our world.
As you see- the meaning of life is to suceed. But our world has turned greedy- trying to suceed on an individual basis more than trying to suceed as a race. So how can we suceed as humans? Stop being nice- next time you see a grandma walking across the road. hit her with your car and say... "Damn you-stop using our valuable wool." If you ever see a kid walking down the street smoking, hit him with a bat and say- "Damn you, stop ruining our O Zone."
Like i said, when i thought of this when i was high, and i typed it down when i was not, so it may have lost some of its oomph. If i hurt a stoner's with a cars feelings, im sorry, i love you, lets smoke together sometime.

The meaning of life? Fuck that, I'll worry about it when I've lived an entire one. And then I'll still not know.

Maybe I should qualify a little.
I meant the *point* of life is 'to be.' "To Live" has so many different definitions today, I don't think you can really say it's an end worthy of existing, because it's so subjective.
However, To Be, well that is the point of living - to continue being; or to prevent anything from happening that would make you cease to be.
Of course, this only picks up the point of living from the moment you are born. To take it further back and try to reason the point of your being born at all is just self-destructive, IMHO - or at least a grand waste of time - because it involves the motives of your parents, and everything that affected their lives and decisions, without offering any insight into your own life whatsoever in terms of origin and existence.
I'm talking about the point though, and not the meaning of life, because I think meaning is essentially a human creation anyway.
