I'm not sure how my landlord would feel about that.

Seriously, she just left and I told her we'd postpone Valentine's day till next weekend cause I have exams to worry about. Hopefully she's forgotten about it by then.
You may as well go ahead and mail some flowers to wherever she's going buddy 'cause you're fucked. :olo:

She's probably crying right now. :tear:

It's cool, she agreed that my exams are more important than some stupid arbitrary date.

I think she may be after my (not yet existant ) money...

Okay you noobs clearly need help (except donny).

As I mentioned, we celebrated on Saturday. Aside from the diamonds, I gave her Ancestor's Tale by Dawkins to stimulate her mind. A little soft teddy bear holding a heart that says I love you and also chocolate heart. I took her to dinner at Truffles, one of the best restaurants in the city.

or, we clearheaded individuals (cept splash) understand that Vday is just another *buy everything in this theme cause we tell you to*-day with no real value whatsoever.

It's over-commercialized to shit, that's for sure. Still, aside from all that it's a fairly easy way to really make your girl happy so I don't mind it.

My gf doesn't get into all the commercial hype, so there aren't all those ridiculous expectations and such.

All I have to do is something thoughtful like cook a nice dinner, give her plenty of attention and affection, send her some flowers, buy some chocolates, and just do everything I can for her for one day.

None of it's hard, and it really makes her happy.

Why would you not do something special for Valentines Day, when it's so easy and it makes her happy?

I also got her an iPod shuffle, because she's wanted one to take running with her for a while, and her regular iPod skips when she runs with it.

But I know she would have been happy with everything else, even if I hadn't gotten her the gift.

cause i can do it any other day of the year too, and without the obligations of valentine's day its a lot more sincere

right, you include this day along with the others, nothing wrong with that. you're not some sort of "sellout" if you get/do something nice for your significant other on Valentine's Day ffs.
