tnf wrote:I had to eat that at a traditional chinese wedding reception. They had some kind of 10 course meal or something.

It included:
Shark fin soup
Sea cucumber
Some big black fish on a plate that you ate cold - the fish had all of its parts still intact, you just dug into it with a fork

There were other disgusting things. It was like an episode of fear factor. I kept wondering when they were going to offer me money for eating the stuff.
was about to post a similar thing - went to a friends 18th and all the food was traditional chinese stuff. it was like that dinner party in indiana jones and the temple of doom :(

figured i'd try a little of everything that wasn't still moving - scariest were some cute looking little pink and yellow rice parcels. they looked like candy - but were filled with this greyish jelly that tasted like garden slugs marinated in hobo piss.

Also ate a few times roebuck. My cousin kill one every year for the past 20 years or so with his arc. Taste like steak but with a spicy flavor of pine due to their habits of eating pine branchs.

Nothing too crazy, but I have had this.

Shark fin soup, bite sized octopus, chicken feet

Octopus is pretty good acctually, shark fin soup not much taste, chicken feet are okay also but not much meat on them.

Cow's tongue also.

Any one ever ate brains? Every times I see them at a counter of a super market I find them grossed and I don't know if I will ever try it. Any Hannibal in here?
