I think it's pretty ridiculous to write off an entire product line because a few people have had bad experiences. Sure, that new Walkman might be fantastic, but it doesn't mean that all iPods are pieces of shit.
I've heard a lot more people say positive things about iPods than not, and a lot of it just comes down to personal preference.
That said, I do dislike the fact that I have to use iTunes, although I think someone here has posted an alternative program that works. It's not so much that iTunes sucks, I've had no issues with it, I just don't like being forced to use ONLY what Apple says I can.
