Also, we all play a part in a series like this getting canned, yet utter shite that is reality TV keeps going.
Of course when I say 'we' I really mean you, Yanks. How could you all not watch this when it was on???!!

they probably did. it's probably just all the anti-imperial, anti-war undertones in firefly were deemed unpatriotic so fox canned it

Yeah, I actually do feel kinda bad about not watching it when it was on...I didn't even here about it until I went to see Serenity. Y'know what's interesting, though? If someone had told me to watch a western in outer space I would've told them that I've already seen Star Wars and you can't improve upon it. Me = Occasionally stupid and judgemental.

just watched it, and it sure is. misleading title though. 'broken catalyser' or 'out of air' would have been more appropriate :icon25:
i'm still waiting to see river's kung fu antics like in the movie

ah ffs you've already seen the movie?
btw gas is entirely appropriate - air is a collection of gas, and gaseous oxygen is what them folks were out of.

Wow, I just watched the pilot episode and it was KICK ASS. This is one of the better sci fi shows I've seen, so far at least. It doesn't have 100 different alien races and wierd concepts built into it, its pretty straight foward and it works.

no i haven't seen the movie yet - only the trailer, which had some river kung fu action in it
actually, though this series is 2 years old i heard about it first on this forum. q3w is useful for something
just watched 'ariel' - good stuff. i think joss whedon's vision of space colonisation - with a highly-regulated 'core' and outlying frontier - is pretty plausible

Yeah, I agree. I also think Whedon's premise that the future will be comprised of an American/Chinese mix is plausible, too....

it's plausible only because of the relatively near-term time-frame (500 years). go forward 1000 or 2000 years and earth countries won't count for much in the grand scheme of things

Well i just watched them all. I have to say i think this is my favorite series ever. Thats right kids, its possible that SG-1 has been toppled by a 2 year series that i never heard of before. The characters, the ships and enviroments are done well, the story is inticing and exciting, i couldnt stop watching it. Im so bummed now that its canceled i want more. Is there any sorta revival movement? I mean they brought back farscape which wasnt this good if you ask me.
Oh and the music for the show is great. I really would like some more please. I hope the movie lives up to the series.

snap!
i just finished the last episode. what an awesome series. here's hoping those dumbwits at fox see the light and realise they cancelled that rare thing: a TV masterpiece
btw iccy if you mention firefly in the same post as SG-1 or farscape again i may have to track you down and kill you. i'm just saying, is all

unfortunately it's finished in the UK already, so i had to goram 'acquire' it. looking good so far though. the whole exposition at the start is brilliantly done though, filling in the n00bs with all the backstory so quickly :icon14:
