Impressive, real world results?

24 hours seems like a stretch for a full size HD mp3 player, fission powered?
Sorry it taken a long time to reply...

Well i've put on loads of mp3's that are decent quality (192k+) and listened to my player all day, everyday at work. Since i worked 8 hours a day and I only ever had to charge it once every 3 days, thats more or less bang on 24hours.

If I decided I wanted to replace stock earphones on the cheap, would the Sennheiser MX 550 be a good pair to pick up? Recommendations?

Anything Sennheiser is quality.

I hear that, but I don't want to ride on instinct alone.

Personally, I'd get actual headphones, you'll look like a twat, but the sound quality is so much better. Plus they're much better at blocking out outside noise and are far more comfortable. The bud phones always fall out of my ears, unless i really jam them in and then they hurt.

I have some cheap Sennheiser HD 202s and they're really good.

I know headphones sound better for the same price, but they're unacceptably large for my needs (outside of personal home use).

Better than the HD 202s or MX 550?

now you're talking cans as opposed to in-ear. nothing beats a good set of cans though.

p.s. i've not listened to the 202's, was recommending the 550's for the price.

Thanks for clarifying. I know "cans" are better, I mentioned that a few posts above.

Check out some of the products Koss offer. The sound quality on all their headphones (and especially the portable headphones) sounds great to me. Not expensive either.

I've heard as much... about their headphones, but not necessarily their earphones.

Pleased with the MX550, there are a serious shortage of reviews on this product though. The difference between the stock pair and these ones seems significant (the latter being an improvement, obviously).

Just wondering, are there any mp3 player remote controls that would work on multiple players?

I can get an IPOD from work at cost.
Too bad I don't have any money on me at the moment.

What is "at cost"? Numbers...

I think I can get the 30GB for I think $300 or so. I'd have to look at the computer next time I'm at work.

I'll probably be getting one in the spring though.

My earphones offer volume control, so that's one feature that I have remote control of. Though I'd like to be able to pause/play, ff, rewind, and stop remotely. I fear that's a fantasy that will never be realized.
