No. Points are taken away for motorized vehicle violations. Bicycle violations are all the same price here, and dont go on your record. The cop threatened me with another violation (of which I was also innocent) and said I was lucky she's just giving me the stop sign violation, as if I should have been greatful for her only getting me on that misjudgement.

You're wrong. You can balance on a bike with your feet on the pedals if you've practiced it. I pulled up to the intersection and balanced on the pedals while I braked to a quick stop, then while I was still balanced I started pedaling again and accelerated. I stopped very briefly, but enough to bring the bike to a complete stop.
I never stop at stop signs on my bike and cops see me do it all the time because in my "town" (a tax dive carved out of the middle of Iowa City), there is one cop within a 10 block radius at any given moment because they have their own police force
