I think my question is better. Why wouldn't you want a 24" LCD on your desk

honestly? money spent isn't worth it. native resolution would be too high. response time would be too high. penis is too big.

I guess that's what someone who doesn't have one would say

24" is nice on the eyes plus you can open two pages side by side like a magazine. I have enough desktop space to really multi-task like no other. DVD movies fit really nice on it. Games look so much better.... really I can go on and on.

Only thing is though I'm using a widescreen 24" CRT not an LCD.

i don't need to own one to be able to understand the high resolution and response time isn't a positive thing to me.

if dave said CRT i wouldn't have even bothered replying to him. lcds are shit compared to a capable/same class crt screen. (at the moment) fuck native resolutions and response times + from zero. pffffff

I would, I just cannot justify the cost, the 20" is only costing me $100.00 after I sell my 17", I guess in a year when I sell my 20" for a 24" at a cost of $100.00 it'll be more worth it for me ;)

Yeah this thing is total shit... it uses 80W (max) of power, "0" depth relative to your awesome crt. it can swivel from 0 to 90 degrees with one hand tied behind my back (try that with a crt) and the response time is adequate.

cool. what you're saying is: it justifies having a whack native resolution, a response time from 0, a large cost, and it being "OK" to be fragile and weak so's only to be able to turn a monitor with one hand (for whatever reason) - all so you can save a few pennies a month on your electricity bill? nice, i can respect that.

You gotta find a couple dozen books or a sturdy wall to prop it up too :olo:

Why is 1920*1200 "whack"? I can run quake damn fast at that res with all the crap turned on and it doesnt ghost (I would know). I like how you ignore the portrait mode feature, which im using right now. I guess I dont have to address your last point since you respect that

ok so you want to run all games at 1920*1200. what kind of video card, processor, and memory are you using in conjunction to be able to run a game "seemlessly" at that resolution? fuck portrait mode. i have that too...i'll turn my head horizontal if a picture requires it. bam..just saved 500+ dollars on that feature. what else?

The only negative I can see to having a 24" LCD is the lackluster response time compared to CRT. But if you aren't much of a hardcore gamer.... that negative magically disappears!

And cost? $770 is el cheapo compared to what you'd be paying a year ago for a 24" LCD.

that's the only negative you can see? what about practically having a fixed resolution in which to use..

Well I happen to be a so called "hardcore gamer". LCD just wasn't up to par for me yet, but it's pretty close. If I didn't game so much I think I would have stayed with an LCD.

Wow, seza is fucking annoying.
Go back to R&R or where ever the fuck you came from.

So it doesn't fit your needs. What the hell does that have to do with anybody else? I think they can decide on their own, so please, just shut it already.
