Why are Americans so affraid of the English language?

remember that guy that fell out of the canoe and got fined and jail time for cussing.. :D it's stupidity.. they are only words..

edit: luckily it was thrown out, but still had to spend some time behind bars and was fined.. originally that's bad enough..
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. -- A state appeals court Monday struck down Michigan's 105-year-old law against using vulgar language in front of women and children, throwing out the conviction of a canoeist who let loose a stream of curses after falling into the water.

pretty sure there are laws about obscenity here too. it's just that most of the time no-one can be arsed to enforce them.

GFY, last year my m8s and I were riding a rollercoaster at PlayLand (near Vancouver, Canada) and got kicked out for giving the group finger to the coaster-cam.

We just wanted the group - "Fuck you" - pic that they always offer. when you get off the ride.
