um, they both create forced unduction? er...

as far as BOVs go. do they really help at all or are they mainly just to sound cool. i was looking into them a few years back and from all i could tell is that they would just make that neat little psssshhh sound. i also read several places that during idle it will actually suck unfiltered air into your engine. that's a no bueno. although i do know that some people make filtered BOVs, like blitz.

It is opened when you let off the throttle. It releases pressure when your not needing it, i.e. letting off the gas

I'm pretty sure the better a BOV is, the more boost it maintains between shifts.

I'm pretty sure the better a BOV is, the more boost it maintains between shifts.
nnnnno, The bov's job is to regulate pressure, and release the pressure when you are done rev'ing the engine.. simple as that..

and the best BOV's are the ones that Get rid of the pressure in the quickist fashion, and also that are really sealed to avoid leaks when presure is building.
