That's one easy way not to respond to valid criticism. And why do you care that it was me who caught it? lol

You were trying to imply that someone was self-owned because they disagreed with you, as well as the AFI and the average on rottentomatoes. Yet the rottentomatoes average disagrees with you.

As you said, enoying films is a subjective experience, yet when people say they disagree with you, you aren't happy to leave it at subjectivity and differing tastes. No, you let everyone know that you think you are more right, because you agree with the AFI.

Next I suppose you'll return to your "intelligent people would not enjoy that," rebuttal.

I just hope this isn't the way your film conversations go in real life.

No. Grudge did not "disagree with me." He said that my liking the Matrix invalidates my criticisms of other films. My response was that the most important appraisers of films agree that the Matrix is one of the greats. The Bourne trilogy will never be on an AFI list. I am content to leave it at that.

I don't even know what the fuck the AFI is and I consider myself a movie fan.

Perhaps you just figure if they like it, it has to be good, so you agree. At least it sounds like you're sure they're right.

Hey, friend, it's ok to enjoy a movie because it entertains you, despite what anyone else says. Try it

lol .......

(The AFI is right. Even when I disagree with them. And I do not consult the AFI before liking a movie, so pull a few more inferences out of thin air.)

Aeon Flux: 6/10

As vapid a comic book adaptation as you'd ever expect (although still leagues above Milla Jovovich's abominable Ultraviolet), it entertains because every shot is like art -- the photography is right up there with House of Flying Daggers, and 300, although its digital/virtual nature makes such a comparison problematic. Turn off your brain for the dialogue and exposition, and just take in the cinematography. Oh yeah, and Charlize Theron is fucking hot.

Resident Evil - Extinction.....6/10, if you like b- movies, it's a good b-movie.

have gone through any of the AFI lists and watched them all? i started on the top 100 American films, but that's a daunting task.

Number 23 - 5/10

boring, boring, boring.

Fair enough. At least you didn't drop to calling people unintelligent for not having the same opinion on a film as you, so we'll leave it at that.

Here's an evaluation with which even the unwashed masses (myself) can agree.

And then disagree. I was disappointed with the "cinematography." It was good, but I thought the subject matter lent itself to a lot more creativity than what was displayed.

I just don't understand how you can recommend turning off your brain for this movie, yet not recognize that people might turn their brains off for others and enjoy them for different reasons.

If there was a list of the 100 most overrated films ever, I'm sure the Matrix would sit there right at the top.

transformers 6/10

horrible and stupid and the best movie about a toy franchise i've ever seen.

odium was wrong about that lass, they needed an extra-fit girl in there to balance all the slurpy knobgobbling that was going on for the military.

Eastern Promises 8/10

Cronenberg is really growing as a directer. Could be seen as a sequel to History of violence...in its maturity of work. I love his older films.......but I admire the "new flesh".

Worth the price of admission for the knife fight.

Hey, here's a protip for all you guys who give 8 or 9 to every movie you see (I'm looking at you, zark and Spazda):

Create an imdb account and start rating every movie you see there. In that way you can check your voting history and compare movies with each other to give them a more fair rating.

So for example, when you see D-War sitting there right next to Apocalypse Now and Gladiator at 9/10 you might want to reconsider and give it a rating based on what it's actually worth, and not on some kind of post-coital excitement of the moment.

Here is my voting history for example:

http://www.imdb.com/mymovies/list?l=15106473
