Oh I figured it out- You have to remove the (TM) from the folder name or the app won't start when running Win 7.

I think there's a version running without origin for MP but I haven't tried. I just want to see if my laptop can run it and play through the SP once.

Don't bother, the single player is awful. Then again, the multi-player is awful too.

Just skip this game altogether. Major gameplay flaws that will never be corrected.

battlefield moment... i'm trying to capture C when two tanks roll up, and i'm assault class. The both got out separately to repair and I just missed killing them to steal a tank. Our chopper puts some missiles down on them and damages them, making one get out to repair and I get that kill, steal his tank, shoot up the other tank but lose that battle and get out and hide, then he starts repairing his tank and I shoot him, steal his repaired tank, and continue capping C :olo:

win

all of this while they are shooting at me and i'm tossing out that health pack continuously lol

I'm not sure where to start...

How about visibility. The reason every single person is running around with the IR-NV scope is because of visibility, rather the lack of it. First, the contrast is way too severe, shadows are pitch black when they really shouldn't be. Then there's the matter of glare. Looking at the quarter of the sky the sun resides in means you go completely blind. Most rush maps have the attackers going in that direction. As if the lens flare wasn't bad enough, your goggles (even when your character model isn't wearing any) are covered with dust which reduces visibility further looking at all in the direction of the sun. Yet a little scope turns the whole world green and players, mines, c4, and vehicles bright orange.

Next we have Engineers. One lone engineer can repair a tank faster than another tank damages it. Get 2 or more he is essentially invulnerable. On the other side of it, an RPG to a Humvee doesn't even disable it most times, let alone kill anybody. It takes 4-5 RPGs to take out a tank, which are easily repaired through. One Engineer attacking any armor is almost useless. It takes 2 or more to effectively take out a tank. This makes teamwork a necessity. Good luck with that given there isn't any voice communication (talking about the PC version here). Back to disabled vehicles. They aren't. Their attacks are not reduced at all. Their movement is simply slowed to a crawl. Did you manage to disable a tank? Well now he'll just turn right around and shell the fuck out of you while you reload and fire another 3 rockets his way. Did you lay down mines strategically? It doesn't fucking matter. The IR view upgrade for the tank lights them up like a damn streetlight. If you run over a mine in a tank, you're terrible.

Another vehicle issue is with the exception of Damanvand Peak with its puny Little Bird helicopter, every single map that has any helicopter also has jets. Any jet pilot worth a damn can take out a helo in a single pass, rendering them almost useless, and a sure deathtrap. Yet, try flying a jet on Noshahr Canals. Anti-Air isn't what you have to worry about, it's the 200m stall ceiling. What are you flying, a John Deere?

None of the assault rifles offer an advantage over a SMG/PDW. The SCAR and M416 are just as good as anything. Given that my favorite gun in BF:BC2 was the AUG, this is highly disappointing.

The maps were, once again, designed with console player limits in mind. Most of them with 64 players are a complete cluster fuck full of rocket and grenade spam like the damn grand finale of a 4th of July fireworks show. Almost forgot the mortar spam. In addition, it's clear most maps were designed without giving thought to Rush mode. A number of them are nothing more than running in a circle in Rush. If we end up practically where we started, why didn't we blow that one up from the start?

I believe I elaborated a bit on the issues with the netcode earlier in the thread. Moving behind cover is not an effective means of survival under fire, as it is so bad you are still being shot for a solid 2 seconds after you're safe on your own screen. Just shoot at the other guy regardless of situation until one of you dies. This is my biggest issue with the game, and it has fundamentally changed the way I play. It encourages camping because being caught in the open ensures death.

Speaking of camping, I've always hated prone. In this game you can go prone and back into a corner making yourself look like an amputee with no legs and making you a much smaller target. All prone does it make it easier for little bitches to hide in a bush in the middle of nowhere, offering no use to their team, until you happen to run by and are killed by a fucking shrub.

That's a few of my issues. The game has some fun stuff too. I really like the weapon loadout customization, though the only thing that really matters is the IR-NV. The vehicles have some major issues but at least this isn't Call of Duty. It's rare that I'm not the top scorer in every game, so that's nice.

i take out tanks all the time by myself as an engineer. play smart and shoot them in the exhaust port in the back... one shot on that disables it, the next one will f it up bad enough to blow it up or make someone get out. already got a service star on the smaw :olo: If you're in a tank battle, don't just sit there like nooberton and shoot the front of the tank, drive that thing around so you can shoot the sides of the tracks or the rear exhaust. A bunch of times I'll just ram straight into the other tank which puts me underneath if I'm in the t-90 (it's smaller) and can pummel the bottom of the tank with the main cannon. it's almost too easy.
I played it on pc for one night, long enough to be fed up with crashing servers and arbitrary controls. sure there are less people in the maps on console but it's better since the look speed on the tanks is fixed and the vehicles are better balanced. You can be reloaded and relocated with your rockets by the time they turn the main cannon around. The gunners seat moves faster, and the citv seat moves the fastest. Also thermal vision on tanks on console doesn't reveal mines, you have to spot those in normal vision or have your gunner spot them, otherwise you're toast.
I haven't seen many people using the irnv scope on console and i hardly use it as well since it's a bitch to aim. An orange dot with sway on a target that is orange with a more pronounced recoil is not as effective as iron sights or a holo.
Also there's no jets on noshahr canals on console. all the vehicles are well balanced.

The maps go both ways... large maps are boring on console expecially since the biggest one (caspian) has 4 points, the rest have three. 12 people per team, 2 people are always dicking around in jets, two more in a chopper that generally are clueless, always a couple snipers trying for a record headshot, which leaves 6 or so people on the ground actually doing something. god4bid you don't get in a vehicle... get ready to sprint with one hand and browse the internet with the other. Large maps are super boring... drive a couple minutes in a tank to get to the nearest point and asplode from land mines.. super. Like i said, there's no help in spotting these things. The smaller maps that are ground based are good though. It's not a rocket/m320 shitfest like pc.

the sun is way too bright on some maps though... need to unlock some damn sunglasses or something

and this guy gets around that canals map fine btw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF9YmaB3 ... ture=feedu

oh another good one... damavand peak on conquest, I was blown up by mines in the middle of the tunnel at B, and in the killcam thing i saw the guy lay down 6 more mines at the end of the tunnel and was thinking oh alright mf'er... respawned on B, shot a perfect rocket with drop and everything halfway down the tunnel, blows up 8+ mines AND kills a guy. big time points. REVENGE IS MINE

Any decent chopper pilot with a AA missiles and a gunner can dominate jets. The guns on the little bird rape them.

None of the assault rifles offer an advantage over a SMG/PDW.
Medium and long range, try it.

you can get rid of sway by holding breath..same as sniper scope.
